He'll be a player we look back on in a few years time and think "Whatever happened to Stewart? He was brilliant at first!" Which he was, such an exciting player. It is a shame, however his loan to Charlton looks to have been very successful, I've seen him score some cracking goals. He may well begin to kick start his career at Leeds though.

The League Cup winners qualify for European competition. Just because most clubs don't give a **** about it doesn't mean they're going to stop counting it as a first team game. It'd see UEFA turning round saying that if it's not a first team game they weren't going to accept the winners as European qualifiers.

It depends how the loan is structured. I would expect them to have broken it into chunks if they know what they're doing. If it's one loan for 93 days we could in theory recall him any time after 28 days have been completed.

We could (it's not going to happen but we could) sell him to a MLS side, or a club in any league that runs January to December seasons. FIFA would grant dispensation in that case the same way they did for Mascherano joining Liverpool. (his appearance for us would be ignored as it was "last seasons" as far as those leagues are concerned)

My comment was based purely on Championship clubs, as they're the only ones that are going to consider either of them.
