Mvila coming sees.song leave imo as he is.by no.means a creative midfielder we have been crying out for.
Frimpong.is great but coquelin is.more.accomplished than him as matters stand. Frimpong needs a.one year loan spell to completely gauge him though both him and coq have the rjght mix of steel and flair. They may BOTH end up being invaluable.
I don't see M'Villa and Song as mutually exclusive. If we stick with the 4-2-3-1 and it's variants, then there is room for them to play alongside each other with a more creative type playing "In the hole". Song has played 46 games this season in midfield and I think that is too many. We need 3 strong midfielders for those two (for want of a better term) DM slots, even without allowing for injury. I know a lot of people don't agree with me when I try to point out that a DM in a 4-2-3-1 is not the same role as when you play with a lone DM, but Arteta was playing very deep and Song was doing a lot to cover for someone who played very well in that second DM spot, but really wasn't a typical candidate for the position. Losing Arteta has made Song's job doubly difficult and the guy is looking exhausted. He has played every game since December 27th I think. Our first 11 can hold up with the best in the world. We need depth and M'Villa will provide it.
Frimpong is still very rough and Coquelin need a lot more experience in that DM spot. I'm not even sure that he isn't making the transition to RB now.
