He's a goalscorer isak scores more than Gordon when playing left, Gordon is better left than right and Barnes is better in terms of end product than Gordon. It's an interesting conundrum for Howe.
I’d love to see Ferguson from Brighton at the toon…I think he’s gonna be ****ing immense and an old skool type striker. Would take silly money tho. We’ll have to wait for RDZ to be poached and for Brighton to then turn **** and have to sell their best players for them to let him go as well I feel.
If managed well and injury free, Ferguson will be an awesone player for years to come. Can't see us landing him. I expect Chelsea Manure or City will go in for him by next summer.
Deal to City is already done. Alvarez is off to Real to replace Joselu. That’s how we need to operate but we’re miles away.
Of course we are, Man city were taken over back in 2008. Thats 15 years ago. They've had loads of time. Chaos didn't know how to screenshot back then. ToonBoy wasn't even born. Trev could still hear. Mustard chinos didn't exist. MagDad had hair. Nev was a regular poster. Hung was famous.
Even though I like him buying Barnes has unbalanced the squad imo. That money really should have been spent on a primarily right sided fwd. I think this has given Eddie a bit of a needless selection headache to manage.
Selling ASM and buying Barnes was strange. Barnes is however a good player but we needed other positions filled. Hall and Livermento for 70m though. Wowzers.
Yeah the transfer business was a bit weird this summer. Like the forward thinking buying players like Minteh, Livarmento, Hall etc. but nearly £80m on players who haven't actually played yet seems a bit strange. Barnes replacing Maxi was a bit of a sideways move but in the long term probably worth it. Tonali filled a massive gap and secures that CM for a few years until Bruno, Joe and Longstaff need replacing. But for the £80m spent on youth players who haven't started a game yet you could have got two £40m players (RW and CB) to improve the squad for the season ahead...
Yep. Exactly this. We were doing transfers too far ahead of schedule, making Man City purchases when the first team is barely on a par with Villa, in spite of finishing above them. Villa then made more moves to strengthen the first team - simple process, bring in 1st team players to relegate your 1st team to the bench and be better - whereas we bought better subs, which is still mystifying to this day. That we're still relying on Burn at LB is baffling.
