Whilst I will wish him well - if he can't get into the Bury team, as they sit bottom of L 1, I do have to wonder about his quality compared with what we already have. I also EXPECT the Club to put a lot of energy into getting Clare back.
I must agree, I did find it a strange signing (no disrespect to the lad). I'd be interested to read some Bury supporter reviews on him, although none of their fans are on this site. However, we have to consider two factors, firstly funds are going to be tied up with the Anderson case, secondly, the review by pegleg against Maidstone left me with a few underlying concerns. I also felt the midfield were a bit left for wanting late in the second half against Rochdale. Bearing in mind my last comment, maybe this could be the extra pair of legs we need, i will leave those of you with the tactical know how to decide.
brb - I have read that Reilly is a good player - in a poor team (( Dack ?? )) -- so let's see what happens. I share your thoughts about the midfield 'options' in our squad - so maybe SL realises that we need to recruit from outside. I also understand that Sheffield Wednesday have signed a midfielder, who is likely to be above Clare in the pecking order. I am sure SL is in close contact with Sheffield W.
Just found this, i hope the link works...https://www.gigglane.com/index.php?/topic/31053-callum-reilly/
Bury chucked a load of money around at the start of the season and have had little reward. From the sounds of most Bury fans they are a talented bunch of players but the attitude throughout the squad and tactics used by their last two managers have left them down the bottom there. Most Bury fans seem to be disappointed that Reilly has been sent out but it appears they're now trying to balance the books up there as clearly the money thrown about by Clark may have crippled them behind the scenes (Justin Edinburgh anyone?).
Sounds like Reilley was excellent on his debut. Was with bottom club Bury then loaned out to us. Was he missed by them? Not today they got first win in ages. Funny old game.
