I'm normally against players asking for a payrise, but he really does deserve it.

 

He took a hit on his salary from Everton to join us, so I think he's well within his rights to ask for a payrise. The boy done real good

 

Well deserved. Bit annoyed that we did not get him in when he was younger. Just imagine what it would have been like to have him and Cesc in the same midfield back in 2009.

 

Wenger spoke about Arteta years ago, but I think he always saw him as a replacement for Fabregas. I don't think there was ever any secret from Cesc that he would eventually end up back at Barca - When Wenger signed Arteta, I thought it was a masterstroke given what was going on at the club at the time.
