Hit the nail right on the head there valley it's something quite a lot of true labour supporters have said within the first 3 months of Blair becoming prime minister. I was so angry that I cancelled my long standing membership with the party. We wrote a letter to the labour headquarters demanding to know why Tory Blair changed the name that added New in front of labour....We never got a reply even though all previous correspondence we got a reply within a short time. Brown and miliband are labour more than new labour but the damage have been done by the Tory Blair years that are deep rooted now but at least now under miliband he does side with the working classes a lot more.....You have the choice now of voting for the lesser of the two evils and i say that the labour party in my eyes is the lesser evil and the better party for the average and below person....
We are an island and that puts us under a degree of vulnerability should anyone want to invade us and a strong armed forces is needed as a deterrent,,,,Under the Tories we would be lucky if we could defend the isle of white today.......
Agree, I thought all three women were a credit to their cause, I was very impressed with Natalie Bennett, and Nicola Sturgeon and Leanne were a credit to both Scotland and Wales..........
Back to reality, unfortunitly it is a two-horse race, only Cameron or Miliband will be able to form a government. It's simple arithmetic. Anything else is delusional. People also need to wake up to the fact Tories will eat their own grandmothers to stay in power, but are quite blatantly determined to do as they damn well please, once back in. Be afraid. Be very afraid of the Tory Scum. We badly need PR. If Labour gets elected, one way or another, it will be their last chance to introduce Proportional Representation. Once Scotland goes its own way, England will be forever Tory, and Wales stuffed to Kingdom come. On the other hand the irony is that if the SNP is successful, if it manages to drag Labour kicking and screaming back to the left, then the appetite for independence may be quelled, Labour are more Tory than the Tories, what a mess for the electorate, think I'll go Green.
Dai nice one mate!................ Did you know that Obesity, smoking, and Alcohol abuse cost the NHS £25 BILLION every year, but Obesity is the one that is likely to bankrupt the NHS? People who make these life style choices should not receive treatment free at source in my view.
For someone who has spouted off about being a champion of the poor downtrodden masses that's pretty radical. Can't work out if you're Marx or Ghengis Khan I can see that argument but there are people who don't make lifestyle choices, they naturally pile on weight due to hormone or glandular imbalance. What do you propose happens to them? The odd burger might not do much to me but to someone else it could have a real detrimental effect. There's also an argument that the world we live in encourages bad choices. I agree that we should have little patience with people who deliberately harm themselves but cutting them off from treatment that they've paid for through taxes and NI contributions seems extreme to me and isn't the mark of a caring, sharing, equal society that you seem to favour. You can try to educate people but some will always be too lazy or unmotivated to do anything about it. Take that step and the next one will be letting people die horribly through smoking-induced cancers.
