Very inconsistent. Need quality to step in when he's off his game, like the last month or so. Tom would also be the perfect fit for this 3 central midfielder 4-4-2 Brucey is obsessed with.
sorry, but Meylers passing is awful and he just isn't creative enough to be in midfield - i agree if he's in the box then he's a good shout for a goal but overall simply not good enough at this level - in fact he wasn't good enough when he partnered Evans and i got slated for saying Evans was no good either
I don't think Bruce is obsessed with 3 CM's in a 4-4-2 rather than lack of players. Had Brady been fit most of the season, Meyler probably would have been subject to less appearances. He's deserved to stay in the squad on some performances but you look at Livermore on form and I agree in that there is a quality gap Meyler clearly lacks. The German Kid Vogt we've been linked to would heavily improve our defensive side of midfield which in my opinion would allow Hudd to advance more.
He's not a creative midfielder, he's a box-to-box engine. Why do people think all midfielders need to be creative? How many times did Claude Makelele split a defence with a creative pass?
Meylers job isn't to create. It's to get up down the pitch. Which he does well. We have Huddlestone, Livermore and Elmo to create in midfield.
5 more and people think he's worth about 8m I'm yet to see him have a "good game" when watching him, he's always looked poor. He may score a tap in, but that's about it. He just stands around waiting for a chance, if Blackburn don't give him one then he doesn't score. Whereas Vardy is probably the quickest striker in the league, wins headers, wins penalties, wins freekicks, works damned hard and is on a fraction of Rhodes' wage. Vards has had, by far, the better season. Only someone who watches Championship football regularly and closely will know that.
I haven't seen enough Championship football to make an informed appraisal of the merits of either, but I suspect the difference in valuations would come from Vardy scoring 20 in 63 Championship appearances, while Rhodes has scored 51 in 89 Championship appearances. However he scores them, his goal per games ratio is ****ing brilliant.
You're not comparing Jordan Rhodes to, arguably, the best ever English forward are you? The share traits, obviously. But Gary Lineker (leaving out the obvious talent gap) had a much broader game than Rhodes does.
Rhodes is scoring 5 in 8 in the Championship while Lineker scored 5 in 8 for England. Lets get a grip ffs
Erm, no - I didnt compare them in any way, shape or form. I merely said that your description perfectly fitted Lineker, which it undoubtedly does. You never ever saw Lineker do anything in a game other than score, which was your criticism of Rhodes.
Rhodes probably had a tougher time of it. I'd argue championship defences are far stronger than the likes of San Marino, Latvia, Lithuania and so on...
Who was it who famously (well, not that famously cos I cant think who it was...) said that seeing Lineker train was the biggest disappointment of his entire career? Apparently he showed up an hour late on to the pitch, moaned like ****, ran about a bit and then left an hour before anyone else. Come matchday though, he was dynamite in the box so he got away with it. Would that be tolerated now I wonder?
My criticism of Rhodes was that he stood about doing nothing in the Championship when the likes of Vardy score just a few less but do it by doing a heck of a lot of work for the team. If Rhodes can continue his scoring records in bigger and better leagues then fair play, but in the Championship he's not had as good of a season as Vardy. Gary Lineker scored goals wherever he went, Rhodes is doing it in the Championship but only just better than someone who offers more to the side. Besides, the game has moved on drastically in the last 30 years.
He didnt in Japan. If you'd said he'd scored wherever he went... he treated Michelle like f**king ****e the poor lass as he f**ked around more than Beckham ever did.
I'm all for loyalty towards the players the club you support. But saying Vardy had a better season then Rhodes is madness.
