Cabaye seems like the style of player Barca would go for, but he's definitely not Barca quality yet.

I'd only assume Barca would sign him for his potential quality, when he's older, and I reckon he could become, one day, the next Fabregas, but even then, Barca wouldn't pay the amount required to sign Cabaye, just for a gamble on whether or not he'll be good enough some day.

Cabaye is one of the finest central midfielder's in the premier league. I think he is an absolutely brilliant player, who is only going to get better. It wouldn't surprise me if Barcelona were interested in him, although it is highly unlikely that they would follow up on any interest. Plus the fact that he is currently worth at least £16 million.

Thanks mate, although, what our players are worth, and what they go for, are very different.

Cabaye maybe worth only 15 mil or so, but I doubt we'd sell for less than 10m more than that :D

Yeah, that's also an issue, especially judging by what you got for Andy Carroll.

Saying that though, I'm a massive fan of Cabaye, so seeing him go for £25 million+ would be a nice thing to see.

Well said Obi, I was going to suggest you should do some of your magic. I think that should work!

I'm not saying I want him to leave Newcastle, just if he were to leave Newcastle.

Even more so they don't need to. They have players in their youth ranks and not getting a game that are better suited to the role he'd play.

I love Cabaye, he's a cracking player. I think he will, like most foreign players, be a different level again with a season behind him. But if you offered Thiago Alcantra in exchange for him tomorrow, I'd snap your fecking hand off! No way they'll pay 15m for someone when they have a better player sitting not able to get a game. they are overloaded with these players to the point where Fabregas has to play as an attacker for Barca to get a game.

    Just a silly jackanory.
