hhmmmm I'm fairly certain Ben Arfa and Cabaye would walk in to your midfield and then there is Tiote but it's all down to bias I agree.

Obvs Bale would walk in ours but that's all but looking deeper into squads is hard as they don't play at the top level enough to compare.

Santon would also walk into the Spurs squad IMO

I wouldn't say both Ben Arfa and Cabaye would walk into our team Dembele and Lennon are no mugs, although I probably would have Ben Arfa, perhaps as an attacking mid. Walker might have started the season poorly but I don't see how he'd not a lot better than Simpson, similarly Kaboul, Vertonghen and Gallas would all individually get in your team alongside Collocini, if not taking both spots. It's not really anything to do with squad strength though, for the record, I think we're fairly even first 11 wise.

Ekotto being so underrated is criminal. I've seen nothing of Santon that suggests that he's a particularly great left back, certainly not a lot better than our Benny.

Ekotto is neither overrated or underrated. He's a decent lb. No better or worse. He's nowt special.

If I was to make a team out of both our sides, it would be -

    ----------Ba/Cisse/Defoe*------------

    Bale----------Cabaye----------Ben Arfa

    ------Tiote------------Parker---------

    Ekotto--Vertonghen---Saylor------Santon

    ---------------Lloris----------------

Vertonghen is the only CB better on the ball than Coloccini is, and he's much more of a goal threat, which is why I'd play him as a ball playing CB next to Steven Taylor, who is injury prone, but when he plays, he's solid and better than Kaboul and Gallas, in terms of playing the bigger/more solid CB.

That's the team I'd put out, I think that side would be effective.

*The striker would depend on who's on form. All 3 are one of the best strikers in the league when on fire.

At first I was gonna put Dempsey in that role Cabaye is in, but then I decided Cabaye's creative abilities, when he's given that freedom, would be better for this team, rather than Dempsey's goal threat.

Can't say I have watched a lot of Spurs matches lately, but Lloris must be pretty useful if Tash would start him over Krul.

I can't see why he picked Lloris when he can't displace Friedel.

Even if you did watch their matches lately, you wouldn'tve managed to spot Lloris....apart from him sitting on the bench.

And no, not even the League cup. It's the France captain we're talking about by the way, and in AVB's defense, they haven't dropped much points.

It's not so much that he can't, it's just that Brad's been in great form and the Premier League can be difficult to adapt to for foreign 'keepers. Throwing him in the deep end and then possibly having to drop him like De Gea is going to do him no good so it looks like he'll have the Europa League games and wait until he's ready and Friedel makes a mistake worth dropping him over.

Cabaye said in a recent interview that he turned down the opportunity to join Spurs.
Pardew's now rubbished that claim, rather confusingly:
"There was no offer from Spurs so Yohan didn't get that opportunity."

I thnik that clubs play games with saying that there "was no offer".

Spurs call NUFC and ask if Cabaye owuld be available for £ X. NUFC say that he would be.

Spurs talk to Cabaye's agent. If things look promising they send in a bid. If they don't they walk away.

Cabaye says (truthfully) that he turned down Spurs. Pardew says (truthfully) that there was no bid.
