Having occupied the French bench as a substitute against the USA on Friday evening, Newcastle midfielder Yohan Cabaye took part in a training session at the Stade De France with his international colleagues on Saturday.

That news came as a welcome surprise after Cabaye was forced off against Everton with a hamstring problem the previous weekend and had seemed set to miss at least Saturday's Premier League visit to Manchester City.

France are in friendly action again on Tuesday night, when they face Belgium in Paris - with coach Laurent Blanc widely predicted to field a different formation with the Newcastle midfielder promoted to a starting berth.

Screw England vs Sweden. France vs Belgium should be a really good game.

Hope Cabaye plays against Man City.

we definatley need Tiote if we want anything from citeh. Him and Guthrie to try and follow / close down their attacking 3/4 how ever many they hav!

Positive news on him unless he plays and then aggrevates it... I'm a bit more concerned with Tiote as everythigs gone quiet on him.

At the minute I'll assume it's cabaye and Guthrie against city. With either Shola or Ben Arfa taking over from Best, as he's rules out now.

And then er... Sammy starting down the left? Or do you stick Santon in (doubt it) or play gosling out of position...

Don't want him risk tbh if he isn't 100% fit. But I bet Blanc will and if he gets injured again it is more likely he will be out for longer.

Hopefully this will give the city of Newcastle a huge boost.

Then all the people could go outside and lick the chocolate off.

Does anyone think Pardew may not risk either Tiote or Cabaye against Man City and play Guthrie again? I mean, he's been great the last 2 games.

If they're fit they'll play. Maybe all three if we're feeling cautious, though I wouldn't want to change the system too much. There's a massive difference between Stokes non existant central midfield and a Cahill-less Everton versus Yaya Toure, Silva et al.

All 3 could be a serious option, with Best a doubt aswell.
