Sorry to see Guly go, I look forward to giving him the ovation and appreciation he deserves. Guly4Brazil!
In Turkey the one who leaves, says âAllahaısmarladıkâ while the one who stays behind, says âGüle güleâ. âAllahaısmarladıkâ is literally, âI leave you to Godâs careâ. It is almost the same with âGoodbyeâ âGoodbyeâ in English is the clipping of â God bless youâ while âGüle güleâ corresponds âGo wellâ in English.
I know this is a Guly thread, but a special mention to Lee Barnard ... without his goals, I'm not sure we would have got over the line in League One! Barnard is also being released this summer.
And David Connolly. He was very good in League 1 and scored plenty at the start of the Championship season.
As this is a tribute to Guly....I certainly would like to add mine......He did well in league one and the early games of the championship.....In this league and beyond he was not exceptional but he did his bit as it were. I really would like to say thanks and good luck for the future........Guly-Guly-Guly!!!
Do Prado has genuinely been one of my favourite players over the last four seasons. Although he hasn't figured in the Premier League I will never forget his contribution to our rise through the divisions. The season he had for us in the Championship was the stand out, I remember when my brother and I were over for the match against Middlesborough he scored two at our end and hit the post when he was on for a hat-trick. He always replied to my tweets too. I'll be gutted to see him go. Would love for him to move to the Championship team so I could follow his progress and I definitely think he would be good enough for that level. Happy I had his name printed on my League One promotion jersey. Ole.
Nice lad but inevitable he would have to go as he was not quite up to the standard necessary in this league.
Thank you Guly, one of our standout players during our rise. Enigmatic, exciting and occasionally frustrating. Will always be remembered.
One of my favourite memories is that dead-ball, cheeky chip to Adam for goal 1 in the Coventry game- settled the nerves down nicely. Good luck Guly, thanks for your part in a magical journey.
I know I've commented on this thread before, but I agree with you CF, I like that too, and it is just another example of his skill. When I've thought of Do Prado, during his Saints career, I've always thought of skill. To me he has been one of the technically most gifted players at the club. His overall game perhaps doesn't suit the English game at the highest level, but the video shows above, that when he does something, he does it brilliantly. It isn't luck or a freak goal or pass, the guy has got skill in spades. I'm glad he's spent the last 5 years with us.
