Aye, he's an absolute tool for doing that.

I expect he'll be even more of a tool if he keeps us there. <ok>

Problem we have is that if Cardiff fans post rubbish like this thread it's asking for all type of anti Cardiff posts.

Typo, Dai. There's no reason to believe that the Metro has any less insight than many of the other papers. Just saying 'it's the press', they have a vendetta against us won't wash, not when you're dealing with someone like Tan. yes, a lot it iscrap, but for heaven's sake, we're talking about a man who really does believe that the colour red will make a difference. Colours, numbers, tea leaves... he'll be handing out red scarves as gifts next... oh, hold on, he did that.

There's nothing wrong with starting a thread about the man's eccentricity. As I say in the post, "life is never dull" with him in charge. But I think that the ego is so massive that he's in danger of causing more damage than his money can mend. Football is full of mercenaries, of course, but there is a danger that the managers that we might want won't come, and that won't be down to my posting rumours, that will be down to the reputation that our owner has created for himself.

Must say I tend to agree Dai. We need our own supporters to post threads such as this like a hole in the head.

Freedom to post what you like on here is paramount, but sometimes it seems we cause our own forum problems as well.

Glam, There are plenty of fans who just have to wear their lucky scarves, jumper, whatever.
Sportsman and women have superstitions that go beyond normality, it rampant in the world of sport.
So why is it when an owner feels a colour is lucky he is off his rocker, a complete idiot, but the rest of us who practice such things are not?

Superstition is, in my view, a human weakness that people are perfectly entitled to indulge themselves in as long as they're not hurting anyone. People have little ceremonies that are personal to them and which quite possibly help them psychologically. That's fine, I never said otherwise. The fact that I think it's nonsense remains, whoever they may be. But 'whoever they may be' is now in charge of a football club that I've been supporting for thirty years. In fact, my view on the colour has always been pragmatic. He's the owner, he can do what he likes etc. However, I don't think a minor indulgence in a lucky charm, or not walking under ladders (or whatever) can be compared in any reasonable way to running a multi million pound business. As I've said before, I'm actually colourblind so the red is a little like the grass on the pitch. I really don't mind that much.
All I've done is state a rumour and say that I think he's a wally. If people want to fall at the ground as VT walks by, that's entirely up to them...

Some sports personalities are a million pound industries, and yet indulge in such things, they have fans following them, should they consult them on such matters should they decide.

I don't have such superstitions myself, and although it would have been nice to play in blue it's not a big deal for me.

Dai, I've clearly touched a nerve and you're now the proverbial dog with a bone. There's a world of difference between a typo and a spelling mistake (nothing to do with grammar by the way). I picked you up on it (something I would rarely do otherwise) because you were so incredibly aggressive towards me for posting a simple enough thread. You've been out for a fight since last night and if my picking up on a spelling error has got you so upset I apologise. You've defended your aggression by saying that I was out of order with regards to Jck, something which I accept, up to a point. However, your own behaviour is completely bizarre and out of order. I've tried to move on, but you pursue the matter. Now please, let it lie.

It's simply not comparable. Moreover, sports personalities are not industries at all, they're individuals who are paid to do a job, or are given prizes for doing well.

Tell that to their entourage and the sponsors, and anyone else that get paid for services rendered.

If the subject of this infighting is the latest rumour how about analysing the rumour a little before going off on tangents.
Ok, apparently Tan has said buy players with an 8 in their birthday, all very silly in the opinion of most here I agree and I do not think anyone seriously thinks any person would be guided by this criteria alone.

With respect, you don't seem to understand what I'm saying. And, just to clarify what you're saying: IF this rumour is true, and I emphasize the 'if' here... You're happy with that, are you?

I have to be honest, I'm not sure he wouldn't say it, but I'm concerned that the context is being twisted.
We can all say things, and if taken out of context the meaning can look completely different.
That is where I stand on it, especially during this witch-hunt period, where any little thing he says or does is being relayed in a manner it might not have been meant.

There is a great Bud commercial on tv here about such things as superstitions and the tag line is along the lines of it's only silly if it doesn't work. Along the same sort of theme MGM had to change the lion outside the MGM Grand in Las Vegas because asian customers wouldn't enter the casino the way it was originally set up. The point being it doesn't matter if he's superstitious, each to their own.

When someone starts a sentence "with respect" you can bet your life there isn't going to be much following on. <laugh>

We are at opposites ends on this Glam, we just see this differently, and thats ok, you think he's completely mad and I just think he's a little crazy.

I actually think that aside from the bickering (which is not what this thread was meant to start) that there's a lot to talk about here. SBFF is right, of course; there are many who follow rituals, or believe whatever, but personally, I like to take a rational approach to spending my money.
