I'd forgotten how high they used to sit in the cars no wonder the drivers can se naff all these days. the driver is well protected now but oddly to the detriment of view and to an extent safety. Catch 22 anyone?
lol they should remove the nose letting the drivers feet pressing the pedals outside of the car being the first point of contact. That should reduce the amount of crashes Amazingly beautiful!
I still claim that high cockpit walls ruined Alesi. Go watch how he used to lean his head out of the cockpit before he got walled in.
For anyone remotely interested, Whitmarsh accidentally revealed that Button signed a three year deal: http://www.gpupdate.net/en/f1-news/270865/whitmarsh-reveals-button-s-3-year-deal/
possibly, but there was a lot that went wrong for Alesi, he always seemed to move teams at the worst possible time.
Till 2014, that's what I would have done if I was a in demand F1 driver. Get a year at McLaren to see how they adapt to the massive reg changes and then see where that goes. McLaren should be there or there abouts until the reg change.
He's obviously hoping for another 09 season in 2014 and that McLaren get the ball rolling from the word go. If it goes to plan he might stay after that season, if it doesn't he'll retire and will likely go to Le Mans with a McLaren still.
McLaren was the only choice really, Ferrari, third best car, with Mercedes equal third, Red Bull 1st but not the place for Jenson, McLarens fortunes will improve next year and with Lewis as teamate anything could happen.
I'm very happy about this, I really hope JB takes the momentum from this year and cranks it up a notch - BAM! (There's a sly Futurama reference in there for those that look closely!) EDIT - Interestingly, if one were take the 2009 scoring system and apply it to this year, one would see that JB would have scored 99 points from 17 races. 4 points more than his WDC year. Seems he really is in the best form of his life, shame Vettel has been so dominant!
Thats a remarkable stat WCB, he really is driving well, considering the dominance he had at the start of 2009.
