The only difference outside the top 4 or 5 teams is what money they can earn and if they think about it they are never going to earn £120k/?week like a few are earning as clubs are cutting the wages and most of the players earn not much more than Michu with us and some even earn less. The days of paying huge wages are coming to an end for most clubs and there is no big reason not to stay at Swansea at the moment as we are a top half premiership club and we are in Europe......I hope players like ash, chico, vorm and a few others realize at the end of the day they are on fantastic money that is looked upon as obscene by the majority of people and that is not counting the bonuses they get at the end of the season..... Why go to another club when apart from a few quid we have everything that the big clubs have anyway....
I said the days of paying the £100k+ will be few and far between and most of the clubs wont pay much more if any more than us... every club is feeling the strain of high wages and wont pay over the odds anymore and are desperate to cut their wage bill...
and they end up like pompey or qpr who will still have players on very high wages when they go down...clubs cant afford to pay huge wages anymore and are cutting back at every opportunity...
Why do you think that man utd are wanting to off load rooney if he wont take a substantial pay cut.....even they cant afford to pay that sort of money today. totally agree Dai, but guys like abramovich dont seem to give a rats arse but he is the one paying these wages not chelsea....If chelsea had to live within their means then there is no way they could pay those sort of wages. Abramovich has money coming out of his ears and is thought to earn £10 million/day or there about....Its small change to him....
The top 4 besides maybe Spurs will all still offer mega money if its aplayer they really want and especially if theres competition. Some clubs have already more or less got their wage bill sorted out now so offering Williams or example £60,000+ if they really thought he was worth, wouldn't be an issue. hell, we give Joe Allen around £50-60,000 pw so I don't see why it would be hard for say us or Arsenal, the 2 clubs supposedly interested, to offer him much more than what he's on at Swansea which I'm assuming is around £30,000 tops? He could double his money if thats what he's interested in (dunno if he s but he's only got one big bumper pay day left in him at near 30).
Man U have only just give RVP near £200,000 pw in Summer so I have no idea why you think Utd wouldn't pay high wages mate. They offered him more than even City! Utd have a license to print money they make so much.
