Just the culmination of terrible standards of refereeing In the English Leagues, the FA and Leagues need to get together with the refs and sort this **** out, how a ref can **** up a pretty basic part of the games rules is just appalling, even more so that all four of the officials had a bloody conference and couldn't get it right.
Glad to see it's got coverage absolutely everywhere. It shouldn't just be about Stroud being a feckless halfwit - or the other three mugs who contrived to get it wrong in spite of overwhelming evidence (i.e. Rafael Benitez simply explaining the rules). This needs to be a deep and complete reform of refereeing up and down the country.
The 33% is obviously cos of borderline offside, 50/50 tackles, blah blah that they can't be sure of at the time without replaces. This is obviously a monumental **** up, every football fan has since incidents like this before and knows it should have been retaken. The fact a bloody referee didn't know this is mind blowing - it's like a driving instructor not knowing you can't drive through red lights, or a high court judge not knowing that murder is against the law. Keith Stroud better have a good back up career.
I know someone who knows someone who would know the referees and their centres of excellence quite well. He is very worried about the standard of refs coming through at the moment. They are not coming through the PL ranks like they did in the past.

Trouble is we have been on the end of numerous bad decisions by refs starting with the very first game of the season against Fulham. I am convinced the League has instructed refs to make sure we don't go up so that their crowd figs ( Thanks to us ) look tremendous and want the same next year cause they won't get them with Sunderland, Middlesborough, Swansea or Hull.
just got in from the game another game and win ticked off...as for the ref I've seen nowt like it in all my years....we win but incompetence like this could of cost us the title...its basic **** ffs. I seen Gayle run in and I said to my mate they will take this again...how ducking wrong I was.

The Colback straight red earlier in the season and now this. The standard of refereeing is pitiful in this league. I can understand refs making a mistake but not knowing the rules in both cases is unforgivable in my eyes
