I think phil thompson chats alot of ****. But i agree with him on this.i said during the game that some of the players were just going through the motions and the did not seem to be much urgency at all.
Now I haven't seen enough of the games to comment about actual facts....in other words could be talking out of the top of my head, but could lack of urgency equate to being well drilled to not panic. After all easier to get a late goal that means something if you aren't already 2 goals down. The problem with that is that the opposition know exactly what to expect from you. I don't believe no one cares and is going through the motions, but I can accept we might be too one paced.
There’s not too much warm weather here at present! 15-17 degrees, Though better than home I see, but sunny it is not
We just haven't been very good Fran. Not scoring goals, not creating openings, conceding soft goals, that sort of thing. The games we have won have been exclusively against sides that have been even worse than us. Luckily, there are a few of those, and we still have to play some of them again.
I enjoy a bit of panic though, clears the old tubes out nicely. It's interesting that teams do seem more rattled when Sims comes on for example, it's not just his energy but maybe his unpredictability they fear.
I believe Pellegrino to be a naturally cautious man and a lot of his decisions this season back this up IMO. I also believe that the team's performances have been a reflection of his personality. He has been learning and been making bolder decisions recently but now is the time for him to release the shackles a bit, surely two Strikers is worth a go as one Striker hasn't had much success all season and if you never try, you will never know. He shouldn't be afraid to start young and hungry players above senior players as well.
Spuds made hard work of it to beat Palace, a very late goal from Harry after a totally inept attacking performance.
Just spent the afternoon in the New Forest for the first bbq of the year. A tad chilly, I’ll admit, but we’re made of hardy stuff down here ......
[QUOTE="Archers Road, post: 11493215, member: 1009562"]We just haven't been very good Fran. Not scoring goals, not creating openings, conceding soft goals, that sort of thing. This describes just about all the teams below Arsenal. Yesterday Everton were dire and they are 9th. We are one of many teams that are playing uninspiring football. Yesterday's match showed we are as good or bad as most of the teams around us. It was hard to tell which team was in 7th or 18th. Still worried but not panicking just yet.
