There was also a certain Charlie George my first Arsenal hero <ok>
I named my pet gerbil Charlie. One of my greatest thrills was doing the "legends" tour of the Emirates with Charlie George

Did they know that you took your gerbil on a tour of the Emirates?

1970-71 season was it?? That season you reeled in Leeds and the rest is history!!! I am convinced one of the bottom 3 will escape - maybe QPR!! Perhaps they can get a win manana!! Your team will then have to deliver against Chelsea at the end of April. And maybe your friends from the north can help by getting points on the board at Stamford Bridge!!!

It just shows how important Diaby is to us - his mere presence in the squad gives us the grit we need to grind out victories like yesterday!

I can't say enough good things about Arsenal and Wenger at present. We have been truly outstanding in the 2nd half of the season. we have a new found grit and determination and that comes from the ethos of the manager and (dare I say it) his realisation that pretty football does not always win you games against physical opposition. Credit to Wenger and Bould because they seemed to have reached a compromise between free flowing football and a strong defensive setup. Coquelin is the bridge which has allowed both the defense and attack to be more efficient in their roles.

Totally agree we have a properly functioning DM that is making all the difference. Yes we are playing much better and more consistent but Coqs glorious form has allowed us attack with more confidence and helped this. And dare I say is Wenger getting his mojo back?

I'm just loving us winning games in a variety of ways. High tempo, pressing football in some games, sitting back and hitting on the counter in others and even tough, gritty performances like Burnley. We're not there yet but it's great to see us adjusting our game depending on the opponents and, better yet, having a bit more composure which is something we've often been found lacking in. I still believe we're a couple of players short of a title winning side but it's great to see the team starting to gel.

Agreed I think we are still a few genuinely world class players short of a title winning side. We need a new CDM in the summer, and possibly a new striker. Its harder to criticise the team when we are doing so well but I think this team still has issues. The games against Chelsea and United will tell us more. I think we have progressed well over the last two seasons. The challenge is to keep progressing. Let's see what transpires in the remainder of the season.
