The Clarets have dealt with relegation from the top flight in 2014/15 by mounting a firm challenge for an immediate return.
With summer-signing Andre Gray leading the line with 24 goals this term – two for Brentford prior to his switch – manager Sean Dyche not only kept the majority of his squad together after relegation, he was able to add to it with such a capture.
They also have a certain Joey Barton playing a key role for them in the middle of the park – more on him later.
And in Dyche they have a manager who knows the club well, knows the division well, and has an absolute understanding of what is required to be successful in it.
With the pressure growing with each passing week, Burnley seem to have hit top gear at just the right time. Incredibly, they are unbeaten in 21 Championship fixtures.
With promotion-rivals Middlesbrough and Brighton playing each other on the final day of the season, Burnley are certainly in the strongest position for a top-two spot.
A win over QPR would all-but guarantee it. Expect a great atmosphere at the stadium, as well as a few nerves jangling around the place!

MATCH OFFICIALS
Referee: J Moss
Assistant Referees: A Halliday & E Smart
Fourth Official: G Eltringham
TOP FLIGHT referee Jonathan Moss has been selected for Monday's Sky Bet Championship fixture against Burnley at Turf Moor.
The West Yorkshire official has been appointed for his first R’s match of the season.
His last appearance was against Everton in March 2015 when Rangers lost 2-1 at Goodison.
Monday will be the 15th R’s fixture of his career, having overseen three QPR wins previously along with three draws and eight defeats.
Sunderland-born Moss grew up as a keen local footballer and won a football scholarship at the University of Connecticut, but instead decided to complete his studies at the University of Leeds.
This early interest in football led Moss to become a qualified referee in 1988, via a course taken during his A-level studies.
However, Moss didn't focus on refereeing until after he had stopped playing football in 1999.
After progressing through the Northern Counties East League and Northern Premier League, Moss was eventually promoted to the National Group of assistant referees in 2003.
Moss was then rewarded referee status for the 2005 Conference Play-Off Final between Carlisle United and Stevenage.
The 45-year-old progressed to the National Group of referees in the same year.
Moss became a regular official in the Football League and was appointed to the Select Group of referees in 2011.
This season he has officiated in 30 matches, issuing 14 yellow cards and 7 red cards. Monday is his third Championship match of the season.
Assisting Moss will be Andrew Halliday and Edward Smart whilst Geoff Eltringham is on fourth official duties.
