Not really at danger of losing 3pts but we could have lost two.... We were marginally the better team but no where near as dominant or good as we should have been. Honestly, I put it down to the twatish weather on the day. Hard to play free flowing football in that.
Anyone install a whole house water filter before? The well water at our new place smells like rotten eggs. Apparently not dangerous, but tastes and smells bad.
If Mo and Trent have been underperforming for at least the past 18 months, then you’re right - they shouldn’t be starting as many games. Thankfully for us, that’s not the case. Nice try though. In all seriousness though, we killed the game once Thiago came on because we had all 3 midfielders able to control, keep and pass the ball with ease. We weren’t better going forward but we retained possession a lot better
This is what i mean by "steady" he doesn't have a burst of high intensity, he doesn't drop off his level in the 90. he just goes along at the same rate but this is not just passing. its interceptions and presses too. but for passing he generally doesn't play long passes but has the next ball in mind or one or two options there so his success rate is automatically higher. you can see that henderson in that game was playing higher, the vast majority of passes made were in the opponents half and he is actually losing it more as he is putting it in channels or hitting it longer. I'd rather he tried and failed than back pass and get a high stat
Steady is what we need for that LCM role. Naby does play progressive passes but I agree on the intensity (look at Elliott if you want to see intensity!). Re, Hendo - yes we expect more risky passes because he is tasked for being more creative. But those numbers vs Burnley are horrid. Hopefully it’s a one off.
it was a terrible day tbh, not one for trying to hit the corner flag with crosses as hendo normally does. naby's stats making short quick passes in those conditions in a lot of ways makes sense. even fabinhos stats were rough enough
Which is why Thiago came on was so crucial because if you want someone to make short quick passes in tough conditions, it will be him
