Swapping seats was obviously a reasonable compromise too far.

The assist from Oscar last night gets better every time I watch it

If I’m ever not allowed to stand at football, while I’m physically able to, then that is when I’ll stop going completely.

Watched the highlights, good goal & assist, split them apart with their high line.
Ingram’s saves seemed easyish, not to hard most of them, although I think he’ll be disappointed he didn’t get to the ball first for the goal.
Excellent result, was it a lucky result though? I see the stats saying we only had 22%, but was that them passing round the back or was that us just having desperate defending on the edge of our box?

Mainly the former, only got desperate after all our subs were made

It was them passing side to side. We created more with our limited posession than they did.

Burnley didn't really create anything - they had the Brownhill volley that hit the side netting, and then the fluffed shot by Rodriguez after a good little move, but other than that - relatively comfortable. The problem we may have, may be against teams that we will have the bulk of possession against and who sit deep - are we creative enough? Or, against teams like West Brom who wont fanny around with the ball like Norwich and Burnley, and get it forward quick

Difficult to say how creative we will be this season, given we have almost an entire midfield and forward line either injured or in the process of being signed.

Need that quarterback in the Pirlo style. But they come around very rarely.
I'm still hoping for the day when we can officially kick the 'typical City' tag into the long grass. One can dream.

    Why wouldn't he?

All players suffer injuries. Don't think he has a rep as a sicknote....

Surely the curse of Bullard and Mason can't strike again?

To be fair to Oscar, the flick on for our goal was clever. He tried to play Tetteh in on a couple of occasions but Tetteh was on a totally different wave length. Hopefully that relationship improves.

West Brom will be interesting. They had the most chances in the division last season iirc. Their problem is they miss about 6 chances for every goal they score.

Their squad is a joke. Much like all Steve Bruce squads he manages to underachieve with at this level.

Yup. The 2015-16 squad should’ve pissed the league and got automatic but we ended up finishing 4th and won the play-offs instead. I remember us drawing and losing a few games that season that we should’ve been winning.

That one’s not even his worst, he had that Villa team 12/13th which had Tammy Abraham, Grealish, Mings, John McGinn in it.
