You go down if you want to, but leave the rest of us out of it pal. Anyway, had a look at this and City can't be down by Tuesday. We could still send Burnley down even if we lost to both them and Brighton. It would only need them to lose their last 4 and us to win our last 4 to stay up.
That looked a stonewall penalty at the death and then we concede straight after. Hoilett misses a sitter. Not beat Brighton and we’re as good as down.
At least a point against Chelsea and at least a point today - never mind Warnock getting fined, these officials are a disgrace and it's them that should be fined.
Totally agree Clingo. To say Mike Dean is a disgrace is a compliment. A draw would have been fair. Add that to a win v Chelsea and we would be competing.
Watched the game - 2 definite handballs by the same player within a minute of each other in their box and nothing given. Gunnar was definitley deliberately brought down in their box - stonewall penalty and Dean waved it away. I've given warnock some stick for blaming refs for our defeats through the season, but I take it all back.
Just watching manure vs hammers. Hammers denied a perfectly good goal and within 5 mins manure were awarded a penalty that wasn't. Looks as if VAR might be a season too late for us.
Don't get me wrong, I thought Burnley were the better side overall and the penalty shouts for City aside, they probably deserved the win, but that's not the point. The game often hinges on the official's decisions, or in this case the lack of them. Just one of those penalty shouts given and we could have ended up with a very different result that could have meant another £100M of Prem money in City's coffers for next season. I sometimes wonder if Neil has become a bit of a liablity this season with his complaints against the officials. There's no doubt they talk amongst themselves and if it were anyone else today other than us, those penos would have been given - or is this just another conspiracy theory?
Conspiracy or not, these people are paid to officiate single games impartially. Not sure or not if the handballs were penalties, but the referee gave in to mob rule having made a decision. Disgraceful.
Clingo - maybe more ball to hand rather than deliberate but next season under the new rules they woud be stonewall. Even think if VAR was availbale this season, they would have been awarded. The backheel trip on Gunnar was so obvious I'm beginning to think any other club rather than ours would have got that one. The standard of reffing today was once again abysmal - even bordering on that "bias" word again?
I think you're right sparkey and I don't think anyone should be afraid of the word bias. I'm certain it's there, maybe it's subliminal but it always seems to favour not only the elite club, but also the established teams. In other words, the smaller struggling teams rarely get the rub of the green.
As I live in Turktown and wander freely amongst the enemy (it's personal here on the border) I have had many jacks today tell me that we have been stitched up by officials in the same way they might have been last season. Dunno about them...... but I'm thinking the VAR people may also be giving marginal decisions to the top 6 teams too . so fik all will change MONEY TALKS WHY CAN'T WE ALL BE JUST TREATED THE SAME ?
Mike dean has something of a chequered history with City. Hit on the head by a coin at NP then awarding a dubious penalty against Ashley Williams late on. 2 spot kicks awarded v Wolves last season. Sent off Joe Ralls at Spurs. Had a total mare yesterday. I’m sure if one researched it there are more incidents.
