Not many of us have jobs as intense as this, it's a week of training then 90 minutes of high anxiety and total concentration. The physical stuff is only part of it, the mental aspect is just as important. I'll be honest, I was really glad when the season finished and am happy to turn my attention to other things for a while.
I think Kompany is pretty much saying to the players "you're in the big leauges now". Not just them, but him as a manager.
Burnley have lost their last six games and sit bottom of a table with some very poor teams, quite an achievement. In only 12 games they've managed to concede 30 goals, almost three per game ... ... I doubt Dyche ever did that badly or would have Burnley bottom, below Luton, Bournemouth and Sheff Utd. I thought Kompany came across as a fake from the start, I can't see anything to change that tbh.
In that utterly dreadful 2005-6 season, we sat bottom of the table (as we did all season) with 5 points from 12 games Burnley currently have 4 points from 12 games. It's NOT going to be pretty and should be a cautionary tale for those in the fanbase desperate to see us get promoted this season
Not many Burnley fans crowing like they did last season, there's plenty round here who are keeping their heads down. It's a funny old game is football.
They were most worried about Man City poaching Kompany The crack was that they'd take the PL by storm ... ... obviously very small teacups in Burnley.
Jack Clarke has definitely dodged a bullet and it just goes to show that patience is a virtue when it comes to moving to the Premiership when your a young player. Theyve spent quite alot of money aswell
Yep. And they were by miles the best side in the Championship last season. There has been a fair old turnover of players mind, but still, four from twelve is very poor Never been keen on Kompany actually. He did well there last year and that's fair enough. But even as a player he came across as a bit of an entitled character. Maybe unfair that, and he wasn't one of the mega buys, but never keen.
Didn’t Burnley have a full quota of loan players last season which gelled far better than anyone expected? Different story even when he’s had money to spend it looks like he hasn’t got half a team he had last year imo.
They lost their main Tella and should have done everything they could have done to sign him permanently and not have to try and find another goalscorer
50 minutes at Man City. 23% possession, no shots and 3-0 down ... ... the Burnley fans there are being short changed here.
