We were heavily outplayed last weekend and well beaten by Nottingham forest although going down to 10 men in the first half certainly didn't help us. Burnley were also beaten at the weekend as they went down 1-0 away to Brighton. When we travelled to turf moor earlier in the season I was predicted a draw if we could keep Charlie Austin quiet. As it turned out Charlie Austin had a quiet game and with Kieran Trippier being sent off with over 75 minutes left put Burnley at a heavy disadvantage. Despite the advantage Charlton now possessed it took until the 69th minute for Charlton to break the dead lock with Danny Haynes getting the decisive goal.

one point separates us from Burnley and a win could see us climb upto 9th if results went our way. We have been so inconsistent at home this season and I really don't know what to expect when Burnley arrive tomorrow. Burnley are like us in a bad patch of form. They have not won in 6 games and have only taken 2 out of 18 points available to them. In our last 6 games we have only taken 4 points so this really is a meeting of two out of form teams. To me this has draw written all over it and I am going for a 2-2

We're shyte, they're shyte, pitch is shyte, weather forecast is shyte, possibly the most unattractive fixture of the season so far. It'll probably be a belter............

Maybe if we can get 90 minutes from Danny Haynes.

Button
Solly; Morrison;Cort;Wiggins;
Wilson;Jackson(def-mid)Pritchard;Evina;
Fuller; Haynes.
I don't really envy CP trying to pick a midfield, just think Jackson's wise old head makes it worth a go.

This has been posted on the otherwise derelict Burnley not606 site -

I've heard that today Burnley have accepted a bid from Norwich of 7m for Charlie Austin, i'm a swindon fan which will be great for us as we have a sell on clause. This has come from a very close source i know at Norwich.

Could be right, I suppose, but the fee looks too high.

Clutching at straws I know, but it might not be a good idea to risk him today...<laugh>

Don't they have to wait for a transfer window........?

Cheers AH.

Righty ho, I'm going today. Feeling up to it and its a lot warmer than last week. Can't remember setting off with much less anticipation though. Not a fixture to tickle the taste buds at any time but with our current form its even less appealing. I'm in the "happy to be there at all" camp so don't get me wrong, I'm looking forward to it but in a peculiar masochistic sort of way. The next three home games will decide whether we renew season tickets or revert to pay as you go next year. I need to see some sign that we are going to see something that justifies the price hike and the one to come after 8 April. Goodness knows what team will get picked. But please CP let's be positive. I'd much rather lose trying to win than play that 4-5-1 thing again.

Good for you, Jimbo - just don't get too excited when we stick the fifth goal in...:emoticon-0116-evilg

Oh my life...

Charlton: Button; Wilson, Wiggins; Cort, Morrison; Pritchard, Dervite, Jackson; Haynes, Fuller, Obika.

Charlton subs: Hamer, Taylor, Hughes, Wagstaff, Green, Evina, Harriott.

Burnley: Grant, Paterson, Edgar, Stanislas, Trippier, Austin, Shackell, Lafferty, Kacaniklic, Long, Bartley.

Burnley subs: Jensen, Vokes, Ings, O’Neill, Stock, Mills, Treacy.

...well this ain't gonna be dull.

Solly crocked.

Difficult to be optimistic about a saturday home fixture this season. Time to put the record a bit straighter, but I'll be surprised!

Are we going out as a 4-3-3? Or is Haynes going to be playing as a winger?
Really surprised to see Button given the nod. I know Hamer has made some mistakes, but I thought Sir Chris was keeping faith.
Is Wilson playing right back?
