Thanks again RTB for the MDT , I voted for a win, hoping that we get off to a good start and get the first goal as late as possible.. A huge ask with too many key players missing, realistically anything from this game would be a bonus. OaU
I think this will be a cagey affair and probably has 0-0 written all over it. Important we don't go Gung Ho, but equally important that we don't just sit back. Burnley don't leak many goals but we do create chances. Chances will be few and far between, so it's important that if one comes along, we take it. Do not want to go 1 down against these, but if we score first, I fancy us to go on and win it. That said, I've gone for a draw.
I have watched Burnley a few times this season and honestly believe that our first win against them was no fluke result(as was suggested at the time)but merely our manager showing how to get at them which I hope he will do again this time. I am going for a 1-2
We know the Burnley strengths and it deserves respect. They will play their way and wont be too concerned about how we might play. Which may be to our advantage. They are strong CM. We need Neil at his best again. Jobe to really be disciplined too when we lose it. I am really torn on whether Le Fee should start. I am a believer in earning your place. Has Rigg deserved to lose it? Probably not, but I suppose Le Fee isnt here to hang about on the bench. Over to Regis for that, he gets most things right. Hope we stick with Adil again here. He can cause their defence problems coming between full back and centre half imo. Roberts the same, step off the wing and force them narrow. I will plump for a 1-2 win. Tight affair but Adil to bag the all important winner. Jobe to open the scoring with a late surge into the box to meet a Roberts ball. Le Fee to play 60 and be impressive, Rigg to come on and play like a man outraged. Cannon to make his cameo debut for the last 15.
0-0 for me. Not a boring one though. Hopefully we might sneak a win, but a draw would be a great result. Bart
RLB Updates - (Barnes dominating the presser as always) Alese having surgery. Extend of injury unknown until afterwards. Won't be around for a while Nothing confirmed on Connolly. Wants to play so RLB understands his desire to leave Harrison Jones - nothing confirmed re outgoing loan. Likely end of the window before any outgoings Good news for the club to sign Enzo Le Fee - needed more depth in midfield. Good statement for the club and the direction it's headed. Extra depth allows us to continue playing at high pace and not rely on same 3 players Samed looked rusty v Stoke, but great to see him on the pitch. Needs time to find his rhythm Burnley are a good, balanced team. Exciting challenge for us to approach. Want to challenge the best teams in the league. We have talented players and are a talented team. Prepared for Stoke game properly and wanted to win, but was an opportunity to get minutes for other players. Thought we played well and could have won. (Was asked if he's bothered about being out the cup. His body language suggests he's not) On Tom Cannon - "I like good players, but can't comment further" Speculation is speculation Always a different challenge playing good teams away from home. Always positive about these games Every game is a big game. Every game is 3 points to play for Le Fee is "ready to play" but we also have to respect the people already in the team. Has to be able to connect with the rest of the team. We will see....
