Hope he sticks with the same formation as the last couple, 3-4-3 made us look more confident and fluid.

Just praying this isn't a game where we have a lot of possession again, they get a goal on the counter, sneakily, whatever, and we're putting out fires for 60/70 minutes as a consequence. We need to come out and score first. Especially somewhere like Turf Moor on Boxing Day where they will be up for it.

Same team as vs Arsenal. Really disappointed Gerrard is playing again and Can can't get a look in, but not surprised. Ojo makes the bench, good for him. No Suso to be seen still.

Can't remember the last time he played the same side twice in a row...great news. You need consistency and time for players to gel so hopefully we'll keep on improving.

    Finally Rodgers is learning again!

Good to see Ojo on the bench, supposedly the lad is the most gifted of our young crop, although I've not seen much of him myself.

Are Lallana and Gerrard even on the pitch? Both utterly invisible.

****ing Skrtel, such a useless bastard. They've had two good chances from his idiocy already.

Migs coming on for Jones already.

    His Hiatus lasted long then.

Big problem here is the gap between our front 3 and the midfield 4. Lucas and Gerrard's natural instinct is to sit right atop the back 4 now rather than where traditional central midfielders would sit, so there's a huge space packed full of Burnley players and no one else - hence all the long balls over the top of them. Great, except our forward 3 are tiny and lightweight so more often than not, we lose it.

Need to reshuffle things a bit here.

Ha, the guy has been absolutely useless in the 5 minutes he has been on.

We are looking back to our poor best.

Yes he is. Mignolet might have the worst kicking out of any professional footballer in history but he can still save shots. That is more than Brad Jones could even imagine doing.

People say Jones is in because he can pass better, but we might as well sign Gary McAllister and put him in goal if all our goalkeepers are required to do is pass the ball to an average standard. None of them are perfect or close to being world class but I'd take Mignolet every single day over the abysmal Brad Jones.

Premier League Sunderland were gutted to lose Mignolet, championship Middlesborough were delighted to get rid of Brad Jones and were shocked anyone thought he was actually worth a fee. Says it all.

That's what really pisses me off with Gerrard these days. Always screaming at others for giving away the ball, yet he does it more than anyone.

Jones at least would run out and catch or claim a loose ball. Mignolet runs backwards and hides on his line instead.

Look, they're both pretty ****, but any claims that Mignolet is somehow infinitely better than Jones is bollocks. They've both got severe faults in their game, but our defense actually look a bit more confident with Jones than Migs.

They're both ****. It's like having the choice between coal and bricks for christmas. You want neither. I agree Jones is absolutely awful and it's embarrassing that he is our 2nd keeper, but I think it's much more embarrassing that Migs is our 1st.

This game stinks of players being **** for 60 minutes only for the only players playing well to be taken off.

Expect Markovic and Lucas to come off, but Gerrard and Hendo to play all day.
