this as nothing to do with united buying or not buying in transfer market,so **** off back on your own forum
This completely ignores the fact that our first choice strikers are Rooney and RVP together, not either or. Welbeck and Hernandez aren't on the same planet class wise. As has been stated many times, the world class players you mention are unlikely to be available in winter. Which is why we bolster the squad now then go again in summer. Which the players I mention, without any doubt, would.
Are they? You can't physically force them to join if they want to see out the season with their current club. Even then, you pay way over the odds to the club. I'm not saying don't try, I'm saying I see what Moyes is getting at it. Let's look at it this way, Moyes says the players he wants aren't available in winter so we carry on and see the season out. If he then says the very same thing in summer we know without any shadow of a doubt the club has no money and he is being forced to talk the same bullshit that Ferguson tripped out. They might though give him 200 million to spend, and if that's what happens and he spends it and we're STILL **** then he will deserve to be given the boot. I am willing to give him this window and the next. Another year in other words.
i agree with most of your post, but.when you look at the way he conducted the summer transfer market, buying fellani.it makes you think if the glaziers are willing to shell anymore out on a managers first choice transfer, which could have been cheaper.i mean he is not united class.or is moyes trying to start his own everton team ?
Yes, but we put in bids for Thiago, Fabregas and Bale so it's very likely Fellaini was not his first choice. I think he signed Fellaini as a last resort because he knew he would come and knew we were desperate for midfield reinforcements. Fellaini has since been in poor form. In fairness, he's nowhere near good enough but Moyes clearly thought he was better than he is and better than no one.
Who says he was moyes first choice transfer. He clearly wasn't else we'd have got him earlier. They bought him for the sake of it. To save face. But it's not worked out. Fellani was probably back up to the back up of the back up buy.
For me the only reason a player would chose the likes of man city and Chelsea over Utd would be for more money.
it was touted as soon as moyes had took over that we were in for fellani and did we actually bid for bale?
Apparently we did, yes. If you consider the list of names we showed interest in it's clear to me that Fellaini was merely the fall back player if they got no one else. Which given Woodward's incompetence it's a good job we had that fall back. Or not, as it's actually proving. Still, giving Fellaini the benefit of the enormous doubt, he has been injured since he came. He may come good!
i have never seen any quotes from utd or spurs that we actually went for bale.and no fellani will never fit in at utd,its too far above his real ability,he was ok at everton as a bullying attacking midfielder, but not world class.and utd should only be going for world class, however much they cost.dont forget we started the ball rolling with 30m players and should still be able to pay above the odds.
To be fair, just about every manager who joins a new club gets linked with players from his former clubs.
I hope that Woodward the clown and Moyes have learnt their lesson. When United go for a player they have to pay over the odds. Especially if that selling club is in the CL or a top premiership club. Who is going to sell a player on the cheap to a rival? Moyes was trying to be financially clever with Fellaini and ended with egg on his face. He is now shopping at the top end of the market and dealing with rich clubs: He's better get used to it or be sacked for not bringing the right players in! Even Ferguson had to pay a very high price for RVP. It is the greedy Glazers ****ing money after all. Just identify the player and spend the money FFS
Cant force a player to move but you can try bloody hard. Money helps. I love the fact United try to do things right but its got to the point where we are the only ones doing it and its costing us big time. The loss of potential prize money from missing out on titles, europe, cups and sponsorship because we didnt want to pay the extra 2 or 3 million for a deal is idiotic. Its even more idiotic to go and pay over the odds for a player who is nowhere near the level we should be going for. Fergie got away with this because he was an exceptional manager. Moyes is anything but. The only way hes going to succeed here is like Mancini at City, spend spend spend and then spend some more. That way he can get the best possibly players and hope they perform. Essentially thats how mid table quality managers succeed.
Really hope Moyes doesn't give Everton silly money for Baines... They don't need a golden ticket to improve (like we gave Newcastle). Don't think Dortmund will sell a big player after losing Goetze and the imminent departure of Lewandowski. Modric is playing regularly for a bigger club, with better players, a better manager, in a nicer climate. Unlikely he'll move. Herrera will surely be revisited if he was so close in the summer... have to say I've no idea if his form is the same. You could've done with Kevin Prince Boateng, shame he went to Schalke in the summer! ... Even bigger shame Fergie couldn't tolerate Pogba.
Agree with you there. How many times have we been told that our team was not the best or our sqaud but we still won the league because of the manager? The pundits including that prat Lawrenson said last year that which ever club in the top half that fergie managed would have won the league. But with an unexceptional manager we now need a squad which can compete. Nothing wrong with that. Who is the equivalent of Fergie at the moment? No one. Maureen has got a very expensive squad, Pellegrini even more so. At the start of the season I said in terms of quality our squad will be hard pushed to be even in the top 4. Our midfield has been on the downhill slope for years. Scholes and Giggs papered over the cracks. Nani, Anderson, have not delivered. Jones and Smalling have been filling in but the reality is that they are not MFs. Kagawa has struggled to fit in. and has been injured as well.
Have to say if United had a bigger name in charge now you would have attracted a higher calibre of player in the summer. It's possible that some of the foreign players thought,"Who the **** is Moyes? Why should I sign for him"
