Absolutely no need for this comment. I've just read the whole thread through and it in no way was going anywhere near a comment like this to be pulled out of thin air. Shame on you.
When I was in the states, they thought I was Australian When in Europe, they think I'm American! When in this country, I get called a Cockney
You should try reading closer, I was insulted as a racist for being a Nationalist....my response is based on he is a Liverpool supporter, so does in the same context he used, make him a killer?
*this isn’t a dig at anyone and is just De Gaulle’s opinion but I think the two terms are used interchangeably when they’re in fact quite different. The quote just describes the difference succinctly*
Well as I don't hate anyone that makes me a Patriot, which is exactly what Aldo called me this morning, however, I refer to myself as a Nationalist, because I choose to do so. If Liverpool supporters don't want to be insulted, then please don't come on here and insult me, by suggesting as a Nationalist that I might or must be racist.
You absolutely were not insulted. He said, in his view, nationalism is no different from racism I.e. he sees love of your country over all others no different to love of your race over all others. No way is that even close to calling you a racist. Your second point defies all logic. You're dishonouring the memory of 39 poor souls for no reason whatsoever.
Interesting quote and why I asked the question earlier. The dictionary definition of nationalism would agree with that, as it's about pride being detrimental to others rather than pride of being what you are
Nationalism and patriotism are two different things. I think they’re getting mixed up here somewhere.
I don't care how you saw or took it. How I took it is what matters. He choose to start being edgy, he had no reason to question my nationalism, so fook off back on your bike.
I simply don't use the word patriotism because I see that more as an American derived term. Just as simple as that really.
Surely saying that nationalism is no different to racism is calling brb a racist. Especially after brb says he's a nationalist.
Nationalism is a ****ing retarded, backwards looking philosophy, but to be fair to @brb, I don’t think he knows what it means. A bit like your embarrassing uncle who thinks being called Sexist means women find him sexy.
