That is true of any system. Of course it's more difficult to break down teams which park a bus. But when isn't it?

Oddly, you'd expect teams to come at us more when they're at home, which should suit us but we've leaked more than double away from home, while scoring roughly the same away as at home.

As moreinjuredthanowen says, it's easy to confuse the competence for the system. It's the same with zonal: how many pundits, some who've managed, still don't get it and point it out whenever it leaks a goal? You'd think man-to-man only ever leaked 10 goals a season, because "you know who to blame," so obviously that man will never allow another goal again. Or something.

A journo once said Rafa liked to stay behind after a press meet to talk with the more serious journos who didn't rush off. One day they got onto zonal and Rafa brought out a flipchart. They expected him to show it was better the M2M but he actually showed, with data, that there's little difference and it comes down to a manager's preference and the players he has available to him, sometimes using a different mix depending on the situation. Obviously Alan Shearer's complete inability or refusal to understand the concept means you wouldn't want him playing it.

Anyway, this benefit of having teams come at us is probably going to serve us better in the CL than the league. But that doesn't mean it can't be improved for the league. It's already better than it was.

imo we would easily cope as long ball at shorties are easily defendable. we would mop up all night.

it's when they get desperate and throw kompany up to cf that we might get issues lol.

Kompany's legs are going, still a good player. Can he deal with Salah?.

Strange time to make such a claim. We've had the best defence in PL since October but you choose to praise it after conceding a shocker

Hmm ... I’ve commended our defence for a while.

Looks like someone has been missing their remedial classes ...

Thank to God Jurgen Klopp eventually listened to the cry of all the faithful to build the team from the back. See the result Champion of Europe.
We only missed the premiership title by a whisker.
