I don't think it is a hoax, I just do not know. Which is why I'm being a bit cautious and asking the question. We have had hoaxes in the past. Something supposedly from Katrien Meire was sent to Companies House a while ago I seem to remember. For many Charlton fans (myself included) this document will cast the current owner in a very poor light. I'm seriously concerned by the contents and the possible further implications. But I would like to be as certain as possible that this whole business is real - that this document really was produced at the request of the Club - before I decide how to react further. EDIT: I'm no expert on this kind of thing but after looking through the PDF I can't see anything that casts doubt on its authenticity. It all looks plausible enough to a layman like me.
Can see where Lardi is coming from - nothing conclusive, but it doesn't look great either. Though was I surprised when I read it? No.
I'm a building surveyor... It's only referring to the car park area Under a normal owner perhaps selling the land would be prudent
So no hidden implications then, beyond the possible fate of some of the car park. That is something of a reassurance. I'm still concerned however. With property development as with everything else one thing often leads to another - and I don't believe Duchatelet has Charlton's best interests at heart.
Seems to me that this is old news re-heated by VoTV because there is nothing else to write about.... seems not to be a new initiative by the Club. My view..... mehhh!...bothered?.... do I look bothered?
The document regarding building on the Car Park is new. It has been mentioned before about building flats by the Jimmy Seed stand.
It was completed in January 2016?... so who has suddenly leaked it to VoTV? and why now.... I am sure we heard about redevelopment of the Superstore () area about a year ago?
The timing of the release of this document to/from VOTV could be down to a slow summer, but the document itself is dated January 2016. Presumably this report was commissioned at least a month or two before that, so it looks as if RD was investigating the flat building option in the mid-late autumn of 2015 - when Charlton were still in the Championship, and Guy Luzon was about to get fired for dumping us in the bottom 3. This document was being put together at the same time our team was suffering one humiliating thrashing after another under Karel Fraeye, and mass protests were nearly filling the car park. Though with hindsight our fate was already sealed that season, back in November/December 2015 the regime was just about to splurge millions on contracts for some of the useless players we are still lumbered with. That season just keeps getting better and better...
Have just been on the Welshman's message board. How embarrassing is it to read the drivel from them regarding the development of the training ground. All is well in SE7 and Duchatelet is the best thing since sliced bread eh boys?!
They should have started work on the building by now. I really can't see it being completed as per the original spec.
I walk past the training ground every day when out with the dog..... The work at Sparrows Lane is moving forward very VERY slowly!!
Seeing the speed at which they're working on the training ground, I wouldn't woory about the car park being re-developed in any way over the next ten years
Heres a scenario what if rd is going cash in on the valley and move the club to the training ground?would make sence with all the building work currently being done around the place
Doesn't an ACV just potentially hold up a sale? They have a window of opportunity to purchase it, and if in that time they don't declare their interest any sale can push through?
