That's not making me feel any better Warky, IMO there can be no 'favourite' in a derby

The only real goal threat we pose will be from a set piece with either Tommy or Berra getting on the end of a cross or an individual bit of brilliance from McGoldrick! We have no real threat from Midfield so Mick will set us up 'not to lose' and try and Knick something on the break!

Pretty confindent of a win here. I think we will be too strong all over the park and am going for a comfortable 3-0 win.

Excellent match thread KIO, as usual. Great banter which simply adds to the occasion. Like others, I hope that the officials don't screw up the first derby for years. Bring it on! OTBC!

    You're too kind Sir :D

BTW if anyone is interested Matt Holland and Dean Ashton are hosting kick-off on talkSHITE at 7:00PM, no guessing what the main topic of conversation will be ;) One of the questions already asked pre the show was "what player from your rivals would you take?" Deano immediately piped up with "Don't think I'd take any of 'em" <laugh>

I'll be perfectly honest, I couldn't even name you more than three current Ipswich players - and I'm not even joking!
Couldn't tell you who their keeper is, or who plays up front for them. I've heard of McGoldrick and Berra, but that is honestly about it! Does Romeo Zondervan still play?

How times have changed munky, my God when you think of the team they had in the early eighties and what they've become now. Even more reason to expect them to beat us tomorrow ! :(

Our team of 1999/00 would have given you a decent game! <ok>

That's 3 more than me lol. I honestly couldn't name 1. But to be fair I don't know a lot of players in the Championship anymore, by the end of this season I'm sure that will change.

Gutted to miss the derby tomorrow as I'm going away for 3 days, so recording it and hoping to avoid the result.

True, but even as a Budgie I acknowledge that you had a great team way back then. It was the worst time of my life (in footballing terms anyway)!
The worst day however was in the summer of 1978 and to this day I've never forgiven Arsenal for losing that final. I was 16 at the time, about to leave school and was working as a 'Butcher's boy'. Got all the **** jobs, cleaning out the walk-in fridge, making the sausages, gutting the rabbits etc etc and I watched Ipswich win the bloody cup while scraping clean the Butcher's block. What a terrible day !!

"1-3 tomorrow. Easy win their squad is piss poor. "

" Pretty confindent of a win here. I think we will be too strong all over the park and am going for a comfortable 3-0 win. "

You may well be right, our squad isnt a patch on yours.

However, I cannot see a Mick McCarthy side getting battered at home in a derby!!

You guys are favourites, but when was your last away win

Gutted I will be missing this, Im in Nice and will be waiting for my flight then :(

Assuming its first on the footy league show, perhaps I should keep it a surprise .... if possible!!!

I cant say good luck as it would be pointless, but i dont see either side winning by more than 1

You've got admit mate that we thrashed them 1-0! Arsenal weren't in that game at all and we should have won by at least 4 in the end. Yes times have changed and we are now just a pale shadow of what we once were even going back to the days of Burley's teams in the late 90s! The football we play now is pretty turgid at best. If the league was won on endeavour and graft we would be champions but you need skill and that's something we badly lack. Anyhoo I go up tomorrow more in hope than expectation and I just hope that the referee doesn't get carried away and give a stupid decision!

Yeah, he did an excellent job in his last Black Country Derby at the Molineux...

At least he's unlikely to get sacked after this one, whatever the result.

Nice to see a few Binmen participating on this thread (wonder if I'll regret saying that come 2:00PM tomorrow!)

Whatever happened to Jonah ? Does he still post on the Ipswich board ?
