I love the term begating. Why isn't it used anymore?

Never smoked so can't compare. But I remember as a kid I used to get 50p to buy all my treats for a week. Could get a can of coke, three or four bags of crisps, a couple of bars of chocolate and a bag full of assorted sweets, sherber dips etc. And still have some change. Begat me I feel old!

£4 pint not far away now, between that and not letting me smoke in the pub either it's reaching the point where going to the pub is more hassle than it's worth. Supposed to be encouraging British business but killing the pub trade.

Beer is far too pricey in the pubs now and it's getting to the point where I'll just drink at home.

    1 pint for £3.80 or 6 500ml cans of Becks for £6.

If I can just convince her indoors that a Sky subscription means we actually save money... I'll be lucky.

My Missus is a wine drinker (and I mean drinker <laugh>) you pay £15-20 for a bottle in pub while Tesco, Asda etc do the same stuff on 3 for £12 and don't get me started on spirits, bloody silly money.

Exactly I only drink out the house or on special occasion hardly ever seem to drink now, as no one can afford it anymore.
