That and the fact he's black doesn't help either.

Very suspicious from the ref. Wouldn't be surprised if he was shown replays of the first half and was just looking to give them anything.

I don't watch the SPL often, but i had money on this game, and i'm just wondering how you can accept the standard of refereeing we just witnessed? How can you employ someone to do the OPPOSITE of what you want them to do? It's like employing a man with no legs to walk your dog.

Wanyama sent off for a challenge that was not even moderately close to being red. Stokes fouled on the edge of his box and doesnt receive a free kick, and then a st. mirren player diving with not only zero contact from Emilio, but the 'trip' coming from outside the ****ing box. Genuinely one of the worse referee showings I have ever witnessed. Anyone would have thought Bobby Madden had been paid to make Celtic not win that game.

At the game at h/t , st mirren parading the trophy , the staduim announcer said even Bobby Madden the ref can't take it off us , surely that will be looked into . Just heard Lennon on radio saying the worst refereeing display he's ever witnessed .

What did he have to say about the team's performance? About Samaras running around like a headless chicken? About Hooper looking like he couldn't give a ****? About big Forster flapping like a twitchy old hen? About Mulgrew being unable to get the ball more than three feet off the ground at set-pieces?

Is the referee to blame for that too?

Celtic display was awful but come on stereo , we've just witnessed some horrific refereeing , I am sure the ref got told about his mistake in the first half and was trying to level it up . Was Stokes not fouled before the penalty incident ??! I was at the other end but Stokes chased the ref after the goal was scored .

We were awful, referee was awful - didn't enjoy watching the game at all. Maybe we really do need to ditch the black ... strips that is.

Start of British summer time , behind that goal today was absolutely freezing as cold as in the middle of winter . £25 to watch that rubbish, my family went off today to sunny Spain , I stayed at home thinking Celtic would win the league , not my wisest decision in my life !!'

Check the date out before you read this.....

In our exclusive interview, former Grade One referee Kenny Clark, 51, gives Cameron Murray his expert verdict on the controversial performance of Bobby Madden, 34, following yesterday's explosive meeting between St Mirren and Celtic in Paisley.

My day job is a defence lawyer, so my natural reaction is to firstly look for the ways in which the usual suspects have leapt to make knee-jerk judgements on a professional man doing a very difficult job.

Make no mistake, Bobby Madden is as unbiased and fair an individual as I've ever met. Anyone who tells you otherwise is running their own sinister agenda, which of course we've seen before in this country and will no doubt see again.

At St Mirren Park, he had 8,000 screaming fans on his back and had to make four vital split-second decisions - all but one of which he got spot on.

First off was the disallowed goal for St Mirren. I understand Danny Lennon and Steven Thompson, both men of honesty and integrity, were furious about this at halftime. This led to Bobby regrettably having to give Steven a caution, however the St Mirren player was sadly correct in this instance.

Forster is a big laddie - six foot seven if he's an inch - and a powerful figure in the Celtic goal. He came for the ball and was fairly challenged, which didn't work out for him and the ball ended up in his net. I thought the foul was harsh against Paul Dummett, who had his eyes on the ball at all times, and the keeper went down a tad easily. That said, it could have gone either way and if I were the official observer, I'd want to give Bobby the benefit of the doubt.

The second bit of controversy was the St Mirren penalty claim, where Ambrose missed the ball, causing Samaras to put in a trial for the Greek volleyball team. I've seen them given - especially as Samaras has previous for handball offenses, sometimes several per game, but in this instance I believe the big striker wasn't even concentrating on the game and had no idea what was going on.

I understand St Mirren fans will be livid, but Samaras isn't the sort of player who has the intelligence to do the sneaky bit. I firmly believe it wasn't deliberate. Bobby called it right, and I suspect his assistant will have given him the nod on this one.

Next up - Victor Wanyama's early bath for a dreadful lunge on young former Celt Paul McGowan. This one, again, Bobby got spot-on. The big African is a powerful and imposing figure and he could have done severe damage to McGowan. This was mere yards away from Bobby and he was left with no choice. Remember also that, as officials, we have to judge intent as well as actual contact - Wanyama set out to end McGowan's game, possibly on instruction, and was rightly dismissed. 2-1 to Bobby!

Lastly comes that penalty award. I've seen several 'informed' opinions that the tackle was outside the box and that Goncalves dived to win the award. I've viewed it several times from a number of angles and have concluded that it was a definite penalty. It looked at first glance like it was outside, however the big fellow's momentum was such that the top half of his body was in the box and although contact was slight it was still contact. It was enough to send him sprawling and my mate Bobby was fully justified in giving the penalty.

Officials get the full glare of the public eye when they've had a bad game, but yesterday's performance was not a bad one from Bobby by any means. Regardless of what Neil Lennon had to say after the match, and let's be honest, he should really be looking at his own side's failures rather than continually blaming the honest men in the middle for their dropped points.

I've not missed being a referee. My career is flourishing now that I don't have to worry day-in, day-out whether or not I'm going to be tarred as biased or agenda-driven in the following day's paper. I can only encourage the young referees who have taken my place into continuing with their good work and not letting naysayers bring them down. Bobby had a good game and he should be proud of it.

****ing hell : where to start ?

Forster went down "a tad easily" yet Goncalves went down though the contact was "slight"...( which has nothing to do with it being a penalty or not )...........oh, **** I cant even be bothered going on with this, just utterly absurd -

RB what was this published in ?

Check the date ? wassat ?
