I am extremely calm, just trying to explain my position on royalty. I think you would do well performing Royal duties, personally I wouldn't have it for all the tea in, erm, India. My own 'coal face' abroad was rarely dull, and I always count my blessings when I recall my working life. So you had a chat with Camilla at Royal Ascot? Wow, impressed. Did you tip her a winner?
A collection of "gaffes" by Prince Philip on the BBC website - in our PC mad world I find these refreshingly open and honest. Good man, have a happy retirement http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-39806145
Fact is Swanny that the "regular readers" have all gone skint following Barney over the cliff. Dear boy used to be good for a winner or two but I think his last one was around the Jubilee. Safe to say the "regular readers" are finding life so tough these days that they cannot afford the internet any longer and have even had to trade in their smart phones for something more akin to a Nokia brick!
Haven't been following the horses all that much Stick? I hope the interests you have in them is going well mate.
Not too bad thanks mate. We moved BUZZ on six months ago and he duly won this week at the first time of asking for his new owners. SQUIRE has had a nice holiday and then had a major breathing op which he has recovered from fantastically well. He is now back in full work and should be running in a few weeks time. We continue to hope that we will eke out a few more pounds of improvement but regardless he will start the season on a handy enough mark. Hoping to get him to Newmarket in October for the target race again but this time get there in rude health. BTW, I miss the Saturday comp. I might even have to start one of my own when I retire!
Really cannot criticise him in that respect, Stick, as I have been going through a long bleak period myself. However, I have no 'regular readers', for sure, and my bets are very modest in my retirement (used to have a bash now and again in the old days) so I still enjoy the old hoss racing very much, and no harm has been done at all. Wish I had backed yours every time, I would have been quids in, but I thank you again for the times I did take the advice. Don't use a 'smart phone', as such, (leave the tablets, etc., to the missus and daughter) but so far have not had to pawn a PC or my plain old mobile, or the cat (God, no! ). Nah, the old stock market of days gone by stood me in good stead for my retirement, so I have been very fortunate, and I count my blessings there. Have been more-or-less out of stocks and shares for a few years now. P.S Very best of luck with Squire, great favourite of mine. Always does his best IMHO.
