I'm not sure what they are getting at in this article? It's all well and good saying "sell Manga, not Marshall" but you can't deny someone like Marshall his final chance of playing in the top flight, and lets be perfectly honest, Manga hasn't exactly been the top draw defender this season so I'm not sure how many teams were actually scrambling for his signature in the transfer window.

To me, the gist of the article is about Tan's change in attitude....the headline is misleading, Manga is hardly mentioned.

In February Tan said Marshall could have been sold for 7 Million, but he was going nowhere. Now we sell him for half that.
My opinion is that we ain't going nowhere selling our best players, and I think that is what WOL are saying. My opinion, only of course.

When Tan said that, going up under Slade was a remote possibility but it was still possible. Maybe, just maybe Tan thought he'd take a gamble on that and keeping Marshall was crucial to any chance we had at the time.

Selling Marshall in that January window wouldn't have lifted the transfer embargo - it was known we'd have to wait until the end of the season for that.

Appointing Trollope in the summer gives a much clearer insight into Tan's intent. We're in for a season of footballing attrition, cost reductions and so-called "sustainable financial stability" ready for next year - and that's even if Tan wants to do anything at all with the club come then.

Manga is a side issue, and as far as I'm aware, no one has even asked about him other than some specualtion about Toulouse (I think) back in the close season. You can't sell him if no one wants him and his current erratic form would suggest anyone looking was wise not to jump in.

Morrison is better at this level than Manga.

I really hoped Manga would have been sold last month.
