he's not doing himself any favors with such performances- As much as I would like to see him do well, his chances for next year look slim
Sadly i agree. I still believe that there is potential in him and i think he has shown it on a few occassions, but he's done the opposite of what i expected. Now that he's had more time in the car he looks worse than when he had just stepped in at Spa, Monza and Singapore. Its bizzare and a dip in form at a really bad time. Now Grosjeans being given his free practice in Brazil so it gets harder and i think its now much more likely Renault would opt for Romain should Kubica be unable to return.
Had a good start but his KERS failure ruined things for him really. I think Renault left him out too long at the end of his stints as well, unless there was a reason for this.
True. It would have cost him the 10 seconds he was behind the Petrov-Perez fight for 10th. A shame, because today was much better from him.
Did Renault mess his race up? why go Soft/Soft and pit on the last lap when he was solid in the points. He could of easily done a Soft/Hard as the hard tyre wasnt so bad. I hope Renault improve this. They seem to make a lot of stupid strategy mistakes
That was my feeling about it too but, in Renault's defence, there was a general sense of fear until quite late in the race that the hard tyre was no good. Add that to the KERS issue and it's more understandable that they didn't want to compromise Bruno's performance any further. It's a real shame because the hard tyre turned out to be good after all and he and the team really needed those points.
well I think the fact he is holding his own against Petrov is enough to sell himself to the team. I dont think Grosjean would be doing any better
I agree and I'm surprised that they're rumoured to be considering Romain as a replacement. Maybe it's one of those metaphorical rockets Boullier likes to stick up his drivers
For me this race just proved Renault have a rubblish car as of now, and they'll still overlook that and heave the blame on drivers. Senna wasn'y bad today imo, its the rubbish Renault strategy (like India) that screwed his race up. Many might be calling for him to be replaced, but I wouldn't buy the logic it was his incompetence, esp after the strategy mess up in India and today. It'll be shame if he gets the boot at the season end
How many laps was he on soft tyres at the end? Something wasn't quite right for him to be so far behind.
I can remember excatly but he was up with Petrov with them both having done one stop. Then Senna pitted so i though they were looking at a three stop but no. One thing bruno does need to sort out as well is his starts. They are shocking, Webber esq.
Senna's pace was faster that then Toro Rosso's and he was faster than Petrov. **** knows what Renault were doing with his strategy. Senna also got a drive though straight away for ignoring blue flags (which was not shown on tv) while Maldonado's second incident was just left for after the race as was Alguersuari's and Petrov's was not even investigated.
The hurl of abuse he gets on other forums is amazing, I hope Renault have the sense to appreciate his potential
Well i think it should have been pretty clear to renault. I dont see what bruno did wrong this race. If that had happened to anyone else yu wouldn't say that.
