No, we need a striker who can capitalise on the opportunities presented to them, like Sagbo in the first half.
No, no, we don't. How would another midfielder work amongst our plethora of midfielders we already have? When Brady is fit we'll have a left winger or someone who can play behind a main striker. Same with Aluko who plays that in between role. Two strikers are what is required, we create quite a few chances.
Aluko and Brady have that covered in my eyes, Sagbo made one run in behind today and we got a free kick in a dangerous area, no AMC would of helped. We need the movement of a proper goalscorer in our team.
Because despite having one of the lowest possession stats in the league, when we do have the ball there's always a massive gap in the middle of the park between our 3 midfielders and sagbo, meaning we pass it between huddlestone and the back 5 for 5 minutes. We might not need an attacking midfielder but we do need a striker who plays deeper (and not on the ****ing wing like sagbo seems to like doing.) Too many times today did it end up going to ****ing figgy who hit a hopeful ball to sagbo and it couldn't get past Gary ****ing Cahill! Tom and Jake never seem to have any options ahead of them so we either lose possession or play it backwards. Cairney could do that! Perhaps Aluko will have that covered when he gets back, but i'd love to play him behind a striker rather than on the wing. Then we can play elmo, brady, jelavic and aluko!
The possession is always likely to be the case for a newly promoted team. Unless of course you're Swansea! Apart from striking options I think we are well enough covered to stay up this season.
The reason the Tom and Jake don't have options is because Sagbo always drifts out wide left or right. This leaves no striker up front. If we have one striker who operates only in the width of the goal area - then they always have an option to pass to. It is the job of the winger/wing back to hug the touch line and provide service.
It's good to see people talking about Brady and Aluko in this thread as a lot of people seem to be forgetting that we are missing our two best attacking players and any club would struggle to attack as well under those circumstances. Imagine what united would be like with both Rooney and RVP injured, or madrid without Ronaldo and Bale. These clubs are the richest in the world so it is unsurprising that with a squad as small as ours such players being missing has a serious impact on the way we play
No need to imagine, they've had that for a lot of this season and it's affected them. Same with Man City every time Kompany gets injured and they go into meltdown, as if they can't afford a decent replacement.
Agreed. That chance should have been converted. Also, Bruce jnr should have hit the target with his header at least. Teams like Chelsea mdont give up many chances ulike Man Utd and Liverpool. I enjoyed Elmo giving Ashley Cole a first half roasting as well.
No No we dont. Correct. Spot on. Agreed. ^^^^^ this. Jelavic is just what we need. He plays on instinct and with a great first touch. He has been the victim of Lukaku @ Everton. Will be a great addition to the ranks.
Steve Wyss ‏@meatmansoccer 2h I can now reveal that it was Hull City who had a €3m bid for Auxerre's PG Ntep REJECTED at the weekend. #Ntep #Hull #EPL #HCFC No idea how reliable this is or who Ntep is but it's an update i suppose. Another iron in the fire gone? Apparently a 21 year old pacey striker. 13 goals in 47 games for auxerre. Just from wiki.
If it is true that Arsenal are in for Ntep, I cant see us standing a chance, whether there is more of a chance for first team football: http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...-as-salomon-kalou-stays-at-lille-9048459.html
