My memory is going fuzzy these days, but didnt we have a bad injury crises in defence the season before last, hence why we had to buy killgalon, as everyone else was crocked, and mensah was always injured as well, and why we had to go and get bramble at the end of last season, to cover for the injuries that accrued the season before, not knowing we would have an even bigger injury problem last season, but all over the park not just defense.
So basically, everytime the season goes tits up, there will be an excuse made and if it goes well, its all down to him? Thats a nice place for all of us to be in. Can you be my boss Steve?
Everone else that works, if things dont go right, its their fault, and only their fault, with managers there can be other circumstances involved. All I am saying is, just look at Everton/Chelsea/Spurs last year, all have bigger and arguably better squads than us, but when they got 2-5 injuries they struggled big time, we got 11, is it any wonder the wheels fell off, and the season before we never had a defense for 14 games, again is it any wonder the wheels fell off. all this blaming 1 man, bruce is getting boring now anyway.
Season before I think different causes were afoot - notably Bent not scoring and our team not being good enough. Last season, in my eyes, the causes were different. I also think look at the total results and improvements - we have finished higher each season he has been in charge, and if you put down on paper our team now compared to when he started it is overall much better now too - and obviously we have several weeks to further improve. Agreed though if we do have another slump then it does seem too much of a coincidence for being external causes 3 years on the trot, so I am ready to be proven wrong!
I've never called for Bruce to be sacked, like. I'm still behind him, although it's been hard. I think most people would agree that he's got next season to show he can create a good team. He's really under the microscope.
Sorry mate, Riedy was filling his boots cash wise, at the world cup, came home realised he had ****ed up, then bought Stewart, and Torre Andre Flop, for too much money, he looked after his self, not the Sunderland supporter, good ridance, can I also ask a question,,,,,,,,,,,,,,course I can, Is it true, mickey grey was the highest paid player under Riedy, and if so WHY.
Too many loan players, no tactics, no back up, history of failure etc etc. and when he gets sacked or finds another club , he will walk, and not look back.
Loan players = maybe at fault for too many, but its not like they were **** players, they just got injured the same as with our players. Tactics = the same manager that went to SB and beat Chelsea and played them off the park 3-0 (Ok only 1 game but not a bad one), his bad decicions came when we had the crysis, but to me he was damned either way, we didnt have anyone for him to bring on and turn the game. History = ffs Wigan and Birmingham, show me a manager thats set the world alight at either, and i will agree with you. etc etc = like what? not look back = of course he will not look back, what do you want him to do top himself or never work in football again.
I could have throttled Brucie last season, I was so frustrated. However he is our manager and is for the forseeable future, so for ther time being he has my total and full support. Like Cest, I like the guy overall and hope that he is the man to take us forward.
100% spot on. 10th for ****s sake. Got rid of a team of chod and replaced it with a good squad for nowt on balance. Given time and continued backing he will lead us into Europe on a regular basis. We will never win the league or get into the Champions League so I really dont know what some people have to twist about with consistent top 10 finishes
I'd like to think that the previous 2 seasons were blips and unlucky but, being a cynical get I don't. Like most I think Bruce is probably a decent bloke, however I still don't think he will take us any further forward than we are now. I'm not talking CL placings here but we should be good enough for a top 8 finish this time around. As said it's his third season with us and for me it'll be make or break for him and, to be honest if God forbid we get a good hiding at Anfield and fail to turn up against the barcodes at SOL he will be gone. I want the best for SAFC and want to see a successful SAFC if that's with Bruce then fine we'll all be happy smiley people, don't think it'll happen with Bruce at the helm though unfortunately.
Is that our future then, top ten at best, I have invested over fifty years of my life in supporting Sunderland, and want better, but You are happy with top ten, ,,,,,ten is not very far away from relegation, but if you are happy with that, so be it,,,,,The men of Sunderland, the pit yakkers, ship builders with a days work, when picked, the labourers, were men of iron, and you say top ten is enough, ask your forfathers, youd be surprised at the replys, I wouldnt.
Got pissed, took my missus to see what I thought was Flash Gordon, ended up watching THE ARISTOCATS, pissed myself laughing, had to lie face down on the Odean floor, otherwise I would have died. now then, never seen it since, feel a download coming on, GLENNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN
