If Newcastle were interested, they would have tapped Bruce up already before giving Pardew permission to speak to Crystal Palace.

So if he hasn't been approached already, his only hope is that their preferred candidate turns them down.

Really? I dont think we've got a single player I'd be absolutely desperate to keep. A clearout by someone else buying all our players would be wonderful.

Chances are we wouldn't hear anything til it's well in motion.

If the club want him here they won't leak it in case it doesn't happen, it would make his position here even more insecure.

Same goes for Bruce and his agent, if it goes tits up he's still got his job here, why would he leak it and put himself under scrutiny?

Tooncastle might leak it but I'd imagine it would be well under way before it got out. As far as I can tell Mike Ashley likes to do his business quietly behind closed doors.

Plenty of players I would hope he wouldn't come in for though.

    - Robertson
    - Diame
    - Huddlestone
    - Chester

Huddlestone?!? If anyone offered us anywhere near what we paid for him I'd snap their hands off.

How many games have Robertson and Diame played for us?

Huddlestone had a great season last year and the whole club has started badly so it's hardly fair to single him out.

As for Diame and Robertson. Arguably our two best players this season.

I said all last season on here that Huddlestone was massively overrated. I've seen him have about 3 good games, it was the national media who really built him up.

You could argue anyone is our player of the season. Any anyway, I asked how many games they've played. Anyone can be brilliant over 10 games and then drop massively, two prime examples being most thought Jake was brilliant last season and many were calling for Davies to be in the England squad.

Huddlestone wouldn't bother me as we could use the money to buy a better midfielder in the role tom plays

If you're going to play devils advocate then I aren't going to waste my time.

How am I playing Devil's Advocate? You're saying 2 players are unsellable who have - I'm guessing - played fewer than 10 games each for us and another one I said was massively overrated and I'd sell in a heartbeat.

I think it shows you don't go to games. Tom is sorely missed when he's not on the pitch. He is our team, we don't have a midfield without him.

You say he is overrated. Yet plenty of credible and knowledgable people in football highly rate him.

His current lack of form coincides with pretty much the entire team being in bad form and Bruce not playing him in the right position.

I also didn't say their are unsellable I just stated that those are 4 players I personally wouldn't want to leave.

But that's the point I'm making - in my eyes it's not a current lack of form. When everyone raved about him last season i saw a player that slowed down our play enormously and made us much easier to defend against.

Oh how out of order of me to take a stand against our owner taking the most despicable action ever to threaten our club. And as a result it means I cant judge a player who I see on tv every single game so therefore my opinion is invalid.
