Bruce has declared his goal is automatic promotion, so one of the top two places it must be - time will tell on that one. He has also declared he is aiming to average at least two points per game to ensure he can achieve his goal - he is not achieving that, so his primary goal is in jeopardy. Regardless of what anyone might say, we are a team going backwards - results, along with manager and player reaction supports this, so another thing that jeopardizes his game-plan.

But here is the real problem - both manager and players have publicly stated that they have no idea what is wrong and they don't know how to fix it, except blame individuals and change them.

He has admitted being devoid of new ideas, of not having the knowledge needed to put right the wrongs that he is paid a ****load of money to not let happen in the first place - he is guessing, he has admitted it. Time he quit or is sacked and someone with some clarity of thinking brought in to manage a squad that everyone, Bruce, pundits, players, supporters have said is the strongest in the league.

The respect Steve Bruce has in the game (he has mine) is stopping some from saying the obvious, that his last post-game interview was that of a manager who has lost his way and taken the club with him.

The owners had the sense to get Bruce in when his fresh skills and experience were invaluable, but like many, he has exhausted his ideas bank, **** happens and he has been bloody well paid for it. Can anyone really waste another window and more money on him, especially as his struggles in the Championship will be magnified in the PL, as we all found out.

Well he would be able to see into the future. Hoddle has a very astute footballing brain, gets his sides to play good attractive, entertaining football and I think could have won the 1998 world cup if it had'nt been for Beckhams petulance.

We just need fresh faces in the coaching staff and manager to give us a boost but it isn't going to happen because the league table is giving a false impression of where we are at the moment. I said elsewhere play-offs is no good to us as our squad and players have proven they don't stand up in big games when it counts, I don't see how this can change unless the management methods change

Not arguing against his footballing acumen, but he has been out of the game a long time. Even if we wanted him would he come here? Maybe he's happier as a pundit these days.

We're going round and round in circles. Bruce won't quit and there'd need to be a month of bad results from here I think before Allam would contemplate sacking him. My prediction is that the team under Bruce will do just enough through the rest of the season to stay Allam's hand and then City will try their luck in the play-offs.

I can see this happening. This weekend is massive for us - we need to beat the dramas as Boro play Derby on Saturday. Lose to QPR and I can see us drifting further from the top 2. Win, do the business in January and you never know.

Everyone going on about who's available, who's to say we can't nab a manager currently in work at another club? QPR did. I'd be really keen on Birmingham's manager, although Rosler is a great shout too, and i think he's out of work
