Like Keane, Bruce, McCarthy and others, they have managed the biggest club they are ever going to manage in Sunderland. O'Neill is a worry, he could easily be approached by Chelsea, Arsenal or the Bindippers - but would he go?
Why would he? They have all had a chance to go for him but haven't. At 60, and at a club he has always had a love for, he could be here until he gets fed up with. He has a chance to be the Shankly, SAF or probably more to the point, the Clough of Sunderland AFC. Many have tried but all have failed. Mon might just be the one. He will relish that challenge for sure.
I absolutely share these sentiments. If the club backs MON, he'll be here forever. Ellis will have seen enough to know he warrants backing.
I'll always have time for Roy Rog. He was a bloody good player & he did what he could for us. He never hung around for some massive pay off & for that I respect the man. His autobiography is well worth a read btw.
