No i just dont look for something that aint there. RH is a very fair radio station for local sport. You strike me as the sort of person that would only like to here about Hull City. In fact you remind me of some of the narrow minded bitter rugby fans that you object to. By the way RH is the home of the broadcaster of the year
We are the only sports team in the RH area with a national profile. As such we should more coverage than the rest, and be first item on the Sports news, unless something extraordinary has happened elsewhere like an RL player accused of grooming. We get the biggest gates, we have had more success in recent years in our sport (the world's biggest) than any other, we are the pre-eminent local sports outfit. Someone has to be top dog locally. It's us. The local media coverage needs to reflect that.
You mean Dave Burns ? Decent bloke, no argument there. But wasn't he voted the local broadcaster of the year ? You are correct I would only like Hull City to be discussed on a Hull City fans forum. As for the local radio station sports discussing 'only' Hull City, that is a stupid suggestion. I do think that City get short thrift during the week on the sports bulletins. Some days we don't get a mention at all but the editors always dig up something about RL, which I consider bias, there are plenty of City based new items to air, it just seems that some days for what ever reasons, City do not get a mention. We are the regions biggest professional sports club and the counties most successful football club for several seasons now but that statue isn't reflected by the amount of air time we receive during the week on local radio. Match day commentaries are good and welcome but we get no more then any other club in the area. I cannot comment about the content of sports talk because I stopped tuning in months ago because I found the show loaded towards RL even out of season. I didnt like the content so I switched off. I don't know how long you have followed City because you obviously have no memory of the bitterness shown towards our club and football in general by FC fans in particular. It is important because they made it so. All the local clubs are competing for the same market be it sponsorship, media coverage or bums on seats and like it or not a successful football club in Hull is not beneficial to the well being of the RL clubs. The bitterness set in a long time ago when Hull FC rebranded themselves as Hull's Premier Sports Club. They also stooped as low as to attempt to steal City's sponsors when we were at our lowest ebb. I know because I was one.
Tubby ive heard the bitterness from some RL fans and its embarrassing. Its normally from thick twats that dont know better. Dont lower yourself to that level. I choose to ignore them
Try being a fan of a birmingham or London club. ****ing hell if you're wetting your knickers over the air time we get try getting less radio commentaries than sky sports fixtures.
Go on any Grimsby, Scunthorpe, FC or KR forum and they'll all claim that City get far more exposure than anyone else, they can't win.
Maybe they think that all teams should get the same amount of coverage despite being less successful or having fewer fans ? All of the above clubs resent our success and ANY coverage of us sticks in their craw.
We get plenty of exposure. Has it occurred to some of you that maybe we don't need it? As one poster has already said, we are known across the world, so why get pissy when Scunthorpe, Grimsby or Ferriby get some air time? We get Sky and Bt fixtures every season, how often do you see Scunthorpe on Sky sports? Wahhh wahhh we are the best team in the area, we are entitled to this that and the other because we've got the biggest bollocks. ****ing mongs, get a grip.
They should give Grimsby and Scunthorpe to radio Lincolnshire for a kick off. Tbey'd be happy with that too.
I'm sure they'd be more than happy with Lincolnshire being covered by Radio Lincolnshire, but sadly that's not their decision.
Ultimately, it isn't their decision, but they can influence the decision makers, and choose to use that influence to fight to keep it.
