Don't rate his voice due to his footballing injuries to his nose, not sure if he's ready to retire yet, but it could be close. Best of luck to him as he's been very lucky throughout his footballing life.

I never had a problem with him and when you look back, we had a canny squad under him. It was the whole "They never liked me because I'm a Geordie" ****e. He did say he had pretty much called time last time. haha. Boro bound?

Can't manage without being able to buy players he always needs because his ****e wears off quickly.

"Fat gordie bastard ger out of our club"

Quelle dommage

Probably makes more money from getting sacked than working.

That is just it.

Bobby Robson once said that the way to earn a lot of money in the game was not necessarily to be a long term success somewhere, but to do well enough in a couple of jobs so that you get others, get moved on and get the pay offs.

Bruce is not the only example that proves Robson's theory, but I doubt there's a better one.

They were 5th when he went there. 10th at the end of the season. Now 22nd. And with a bloody canny squad.

Good going Brucey lad.

I worked for a couple companies that were taken over, I was paid off.. it was the only time in my working life that I ever had a biggish lump sum...paid the mortgage off.

Is there seriously anybody left in the country who would hire Steve Bruce?

He complains about the abuse, yet he must be a millionaire many times over. Why not just retire?

Mourinho is making a good fist of it in recent years - sacked and paid off Chelsea (twice), Madrid, Man Utd and Spurs.

He's getting worse as he gets older.
- he should retire

Bruce isn't very good but somehow keeps his reputation enough to get another job each time he gets the boot.

Jose though I am convinced he does it on purpose, its always athe same points (about 3 years in) that his players seem to down tools and give up, I reckon he pushes them to the brink with being a arsehole knowing he will get the sack a big payout and be in a new job within a month or two! As his reputation is such that he always gets a job quickly and always big clubs so presumably on a decent wage with a decent lump sum when sacked!

Can you please find me a job where I can go and fail and get millions please? <laugh>
The new CEO of a large corporation who makes thousands redundant - savings on wage bill makes profit look better- huge profit linked bonus - clause for a big golden handshake linked to the good time figures if sacked - which then comes because you can’t make those people redundant twice , and the company returns to being sh*t again

Made a good living at getting sacked, probably the most successful thing he has done in the game.

like most, he wants to keep going to prove he is a good manager, despite not having the record to show he is worth a shot.

as for the 'get out of our club' chants it had feck all to do with his background and everything to do with the fact it had all turned to crap and he refused to walk, up till then no one really cared a fig where he came from, much like the many 'geordie' players we have had on our books, do the job and all is well.
