As welder said before, went for the dosh, but I recon we could get back what was paid for him, or let him rot on the bench, force him to buy out his contract. then **** him off once and for all.

Commachio, you've just hit on the central point in deciding what to do with Gyan. What is "SAFC style of football"? If it's hoofball to a single isolated striker, you're right - he's no good here any more than Bent was or Bendtner will be. No man wants donkey work for the rest of his life, and when they can get better pay elsewhere, every striker is going to leave.

But what we saw on Sunday is an opportunity for Bruce. Elmo, Larsson, Vaughan and Gardener provided something different - if only he can resist tinkering with it. If we keep that, Gyan would be a brilliant player for us. He'd be so much better than we've ever seen before if he could get balls to feet and a bit of space - witness his Ghana performances. It really is up to Bruce - he's signed well as usual, and the question is what will he do with it.

Old system - move him on because he'll leave sooner or later anyway. New system - bring him back. I think he'll dazzle us all.

We only have to sell Gyan for £7million to break even now.

Problem is, will many clubs be willing to pay even that for a player who has tarnished a reputation as a global star who loved the big occasion?

Did the fact the club supposedly asked him to focus less on his music and concentrate on football, a request he actually refused, saying it 'didn't interfere' have a bearing.

Pointers are all looking like a talented footballer who's heart isn't in the game, his heart may well be in being a public entertainer, you can see that in his persona, football is his cash cow.

Different player for Ghana, as he has clear pride in his country, couldn't give a **** about playing club football? Could be right.

Think, the French league kicks off BEFORE ours, yet when we signed him, he wasn't match fit for 6 weeks.

Yes, he'd played the World Cup, him and 100+ other players in the Premier League.

This season, no tourneys, no distractions, he comes back overweight and disinterested.

2 seasons, 2 indications that the lad hasn't prepared himself for the season. Attitude problem at best, pure disdain and disinterest at worst.
