I'm not going to lie, you are the worst team I have seen us play this season. The tactics you employed were disgusting.Your players were wasting time from the first minute and looked for free kicks whenever your players were touched. Brady's tackle wasn't a red, but it was a yellow.
I thought you played well with 9 men. Defended deep and looked to Fletcher to hold up the long ball for your attacks which when it stuck worked well. Without a forward who can consistently score we struggled against the 7 men in the final third. Without losing two players you'd have left more space at the back and we may have got more clear cut chances. Our performances against Everton and Spurs and the points we've picked up at home are what fill me with confidence that we can stay up. Still a long way to go but we are doing ok. Cattermole must have caught Elmo otherwise why did he walk without saying a word to him? He doesn't seem the type of person that would accept cheating without a protest. McShane was clattered by Westwood. It was a brave dive and I hope he's ok but it was a ball McShane was entitled to go for. I like coming up to Sunderland and your fans deserve a better performance from the players so I hope you stay up but not at our expense.
Will will not stay up as our players are rotten to the core. Disagree about mcshane he knew exactly whag he was doing. Both our players deserved to go and cuellar does not know his best 11.
So was I. McShane, during his years at Hull City, does not have a history of reckless challenges when he knows he not going to get the ball.
Someone didn't go to the game ... Your 11 men barely touched the ball! I think you'll finish above Palace but nothing more.
Catts sending off looked harsh but if you go in like that you take your chances. Catts knows that and presumably that's why he didn't argue. McShane seemed similar and could have been a red. You can blame the ref till the cows come home but players who fly in on tackles in that manner force referees to make decisions and sometimes that's going to be a red, Cattermole in particular had no reason to make that challenge one minute before half time in the centre circle - idiocy! Game changing.
Bit too early all this chat about relegation. Things can change. It's only 1/4 of the season gone. If that Johnson shot had gone in, you'd have a pretty good point. You wouldn't have deserved it, but that's another matter entirely. Football isn't always fair and the better team doesn't always win. If you win a few matches back to back and someone in midtable does the opposite and loses, then the bigger picture changes entirely. I expect both sides to be down at the foot of the table.
