I agree but if we knew what wages we was signing them all on i doubt we would of been happy, i.e if i knew Halmosi was on 25k would i have been excited when he signed? Of course not. The wage bill was the main issue, people forget the wages the likes of Boateng and Cousin etc... where on.
True, but we also thought they were good players. Just as we do with the current crop before seeing them play.
Who thought Halmosi was a good player? I think most were bemused and highly curious about his so-called talent and then we were flabbergasted at his lightweight ability - not that we saw that much of it.
I think quite a lot of people thought Halmosi was a good player (myself included) - sadly, he just didn't have the ability to step up from the Championship.
I think that like Proschwitz it was more a physical issue. Halmosi's set pieces were excellent. Problem was he was slow, weak and unfit.
Not denying that but i would say that about Wayne Rooney, the issue is financial management which is something i think we can all agree that we are in a far better position even if we would like to have King, Geo and Cousin upfront again!
I think many thought him an average Championship player, at best. We needed PL quality and he never showed it; although I could see a case for saying he was never really allowed a run - maybe because he was poor.
