Lerts be fair, Billy Sharp would have only been worth the otlay IF he had scored the goals that got us to the PL. Alas we shall never know But i do agree with NB judgement. He knows a quality footballer. Interesting that Sainst have only started Sharp twice since they signed him and he has scored just one goal. Looks like Nick was correct. Well so far at any road. FC reasons for not coming are laughable. As if Sunderland is any better. He went for the cash,, end of.
We wouldn't want a 1 in 2 striker, he wouldn't fit in with our team ethos, he's might even cause some damage to a ball...
yes but in a game that they were winning anyway that contribution has been hardly telling has it. i thought the plan was for Sharp and Lambert to play together ? maybe Sharp has got the big club syndrome back that dogged his time with Sheffield Utd. who knows.
not much chance of that looking at his Saints record to date ? why is not Adkins playing him i wonder ?
They have Lambert and Do Prado scoring as well. They don't even need Sharp that's why he's only started twice, and as Erik says, that's still a good strike rate.
Southampton will probably be promoted of course. If Sharp hasn't played much for them by the end of this season,Will he get much of a chance in the Prem ? I doubt it.He cost them £1.8 mill i think ? Then there's his wages, which will be higher in the prem.Bit of a waste him signing in the first place.
interesting comments there, it appears he is saying duffen and co where in charge of the financial side, while he was just the football man.. that cant be right tho, because everything from finances, the meat pies, , the shooting of john lennon and the club shop running out of hull city golf balls was his fault according to some!
Alledgedly Billy Sharp is already unhappy down south and struggling to settle. This comes from a donny rovers youth player whose family are good friends of him and his partner, who has stayed back in south yorks.
Nobody actually asked him about the pies, so until I hear different, the slide in pie quality was definitely down to Brownie.
ha ha, one thing i dont get is, he seems to take a few swipes at duffen..but then according to the duffman there meeting up on saturday like there still best buddies...
It was the most surprising thing about all his comments, it's funny as the organiser Ian Garmston was talking to Duffen on Twitter ahead of the OSC meeting last night. I've passed the quotes back to Duffen, just in case he missed them.
There's a couple of interesting points in there: I'm no expert but 1500m in a game doesn't sound like a lot (obviously a lot more than 700m). I thought most players ran around 7-10km in a game? It sounds like we owe Deano and Barmby a good portion of the £35-40m for staying up a second season. Barmby is obviously getting some of his now but it sounds like we should take on Deano as a striking coach if: 1) He drags the young players back onto the training ground after training and 2) He helped mould Campbell into the player he is today. Obviously the issue here is that he would probably force the players to cross the ball in for him to score, which obviously wouldn't help our lack of goalscoring.
I think we blame him for doing utter ****e for 18 months........ However after reading that it brings back how good he was at talking to the media, and i think i have fallen in love with the man again. You can't deny how good he was for us, however you can't deny how badly it fell apart.
It never fails to amaze me that not only does a pratt like Duffen have a Twitter page (does that make him a twat?) but folk actually read it! Brown is a ****-wit, simple as, simple as the people who think his thoughts are relevant. Did he mention the suicide bridge incident? Final question - did anything ask why he knows ****-all about tactics ?
