My comment was a light hearted taking the piss kinda thing. Pathetic I know. Wasn't expecting another response.
So … Brownie’s first four games, four wins - including two from 2-0 down. That’s some transformation. The tan-man is back. https://www.skysports.com/football/...rom-absolute-oblivion-with-four-wins-in-a-row
Ian Ashbee wasn't completely complimentary about Browny at the live event. Said his on the pitch dressing down was all about him and he completely lost the dressing room. Also said the media attention went to his head and told a story about him wearing sunglasses on sky to look "special". Mind you the story about Nicky B fighting that twat Bullard at Humber Bridge car park was funnier
.... and that's why he had to go when he did. Because it got so bad. To many it seemed odd timing, but there wasn't any choice because of how far he lost the dressing room to a point where it eventually became untenable. It was explained on here at the time but for some reason it just didn't register in most people's minds. Such a pity it had to end that way after achieving things we literally never thought we'd see
Brownie said a few players had been out the night before the Man City game which I think contributed to him doing what he did. Not what he did was right but the players never mention that when this gets spoke about
Just looked at the national league table and it’s a bit mad. Chesterfield are 22 points clear at the top and possibly on to beat the points record set by Wrexham last season. But the next 2 top form teams are in the bottom 4, Kidderminster and Fylde.
I've said a number of times, the limelight went to Brownies head, seems Ashbee confirms it, he will always be remembered for taking us to the promised land, and the imperious start we had, but fame can change people, not many other current managers appeared on question of sport, but he lapped up the attention.
Sadly as Ash alluded too it did go to his head all the media attention. I think Paul Duffen's influence on him was also partly to blame.
The thing is, the on pitch team talk was in the season we survived, when he was put on gardening leave, we only had 4 or so games left. Little point IMO!
I'd like to see him do well. Towards the end of his time here he did one or two things that he probably regrets, but he's still a City legend
should have happened a year sooner. once marlon king had gone off to prison, or wherever he went, brown opted to play one forward. they say insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. brown did that for 16 months and never got different results. that said, i've always wished him well in his post-tigers adventures.
fylde now 17th, chesterfield just lost a game, but now kidderminster are the form team based on the last 5 games with four wins and a draw. tight in that table though - kidderminster could be in the top half with three wins.
