Because you stated that the McLaren was the class of the field with the RB and only mentioned Hamilton in failing to beat Vettel. I'm curious to know why you think Button also failed to take the fight to Vettel.

Oh please typical hamilton hater. You dont know whats happening behind close doors these drivers have alot of pr and extra activites outside of racing . He is Human he's going through a tough time in his life and his f1 career .His mindset is for 2012 thats what he is focusing on now .How Dare you point the finger and asume whats going on in peoples lifes . As lewis said in an interview ' Life is like a puzzle, You have to get things in the right place.

you are using button because you cannot defend hamilton any other way ,
when a driver wins a WDC he moves up a level in every department and that is exactly what we have seen with vettel this year -- hence why he is wiping the floor with his team mate in identical machinery which was not allways the case last year -

as i said button is vettel"s closest rival because to a large extent he has been error free and has made fairly good use of the tyres , if hamilton had done the same he would also be alot closer to vettel ,
---------- alas he has dropped the ball to many times which effectively has ruined his season -

PR work is the same for every driver not just lewis --- we can only judge all the drivers on there on track performances ,
--- and as we all know lewis has has fallen short in that department this year --

Pointless trying to discuss anything regarding Hamilton with you as you cannot be objective and discuss him without insults or trying to bait his fans. You will only be happy if people put him down and agree with your dislike for him. You're not an F1 fan... you are as bad as the Hamilton fan boys, just on the other end of the spectrum.

From now on I'll refrain from posting on this board. not606 is going the way of all the others. Have better things to do with my time than deal with pig headed, single minded idiots that can't hold a reasonable, balanced conversation.

    Have fun.

Vettel has destroyed Button because he's had better strategy, a better pit crew, superior qualifying skill, more luck, and overall (imo), because he's a better driver than Button.

I'm sorry, but saying that Hamiltons off colour because his missus left is ridiculous. We've all been dumped by a girl numerous times, the majority of us never let it affect our performances. I was never heard saying "Sorry, i can't hand my coursework in today, my girlfriend has left me and i'm in a bad place right now." This excuse shows two things.

    1) Hamilton is possibly fishing for excuses
    2) He's too weak mentally to be a toilet attendant, let alone a racing driver. Needs to toughen up psychologically before mounting a serious charge.

That's the problem with Hamilton. We try to be objective, but his fans can't take a serious point made, and they spin it into some ridiculous counter argument.

lol my point was that these "distractions" or personal problems can't affect his driving. Would he really be wallowing in self-pity whilst driving on the limit in the race? Instead, perhaps these "distractions" are an excuse for other things affecting his driving, like Vettel's domination, Button beating him in an equal car, struggling to get the most out of the tyres, public perception of him, etc.

    oh dear --

we are going down that road are we bhaji ,

people are only giving there own opinions on why lewis has not been very effective this year , unfortunately the images on our televisions back these opinions up -- unless the bbc has been putting a different broadcast on my tele every two weeks that is different from yours -

if you are not mature enough to handle other peoples altenative opinions that is your problem not ours
--------- you cannot expect people to change there opinion just because it upsets you ---

Hell, if he's feeling he can't do the job properly, i wouldn't mind having a crack at it. How can you not enjoy being a McLaren driver? I'm sure a lower driver would covet that seat he has.

Different things affect different people in different ways.

For all we know he may be a sensitive flower under the skin and all the bad press, mistakes he's made himself, realtionship issues etc have all got to him and knocked him mentally for six?

If you're head is not in the right place it will affect what you can do.

If he has truly got rid of everything that was bothering him and he doesn;t get back his form from 2007-2009 then questions have to be seriously raised on his ability to sustain any kind of challenge for the title.

    My final word on this:

I am quite capable of accepting others opinions and I think you'll find I'm quite capable of acknowledging Hamilton's deficiencies. I'd argue that you are incapable of accepting others opinions, addressing them reasonably and responding to a question with a valid response.

As for maturity... I'll let others make their minds up on that and form their own opinions. I have no desire to go down the tit for tat way of debating that you seem to wish to pursue, hence my decision to leave you to it.

I'm pretty sure that you'll respond to this with some level of put down, but you'll receive no response, so make your own mind up if you'd like to waste your time.

Vettel has destroyed everyone! He has been in a different category of motorsport this year.

That he already has 10 victories to his teammates 0, shows how on top of his game he has been this year.

I can't stand him and his ****ing finger, but you have to give him praise where it's due.

Maybe Webber has been woeful. I reckon the Toro Rosso pair may have done a better job than Webber. RBR are making a mistake re-signing him.

    come on now bhaji ,
there is no need for any of this rubbish as we are all adults , not all of us are going to worship at the hamilton alter ,

the topic is about hamilton and some of us are responding with an alternative view of hamilton than you may have -that is what a forum is all about , and i did respond to you with reasonable and intelligent responces -

when lewis acts and drives like a pram handle people on a forum are entitled to give an opinion on that --
if it upsets you so much that you have to insult people that have such opinions that casts serious doubts on your maturity and you need to look in a mirror bud --

lets all be friends -------- wadda you sayyyyy --

I find it strange that Hamilton fans feel that he is being slated by people on this thread, all I see is people telling it how it is at this point in time, nobody is saying things that are not true.

To me it is equally perplexing that Lewis fans are so defensive, from my point of view all this rubbish started when Jenson joined McLaren and the general consensus was that he was no match for Hamilton, indeed I endured thread after thread of Button hate on the bbc606 there was even one thread that went on for a whole year which started off being called "The Butt Kicking" and later became "The Butt Kicking Continues" so don't be so defensive Lewis fans because it seems the venom flows both ways.
