Have to echo everything that has been said so well on this thread. Roller did a superb job of organising the day, such a great turnout. Credit to the guys who came over from Ireland for the game, it was a pleasure to meet everyone who I did for the first time. Sorry myself and Sussex couldnt make the pub after the game, but I was pleased to have met such brilliant people. What a great fanbase we have at QPR. Also a special mention to Fulham Traveller, superb to see you there, and that shows what an influence Brix had on everyone he knew. RIP Brix.
Thanks to roller for organising yesterday. Sorry I couldn't make the pubs but had 2 of my kids (which also prevented me from speaking to many of you). It was great to talk to Pat and Deon and to meet Nines, CORKer and WBA, hope to meet more of you another time. Cheers! And a relief to discover I seem to have stopped jinxing the team - though don't know how Birmingham failed to score!
Now a little miffed that I couldn't make the evening session as it sounds like a good time was had by all. Still great to meet you guys face to face and what a tribute to Brix. Hoping this becomes a regular feature...
Excellent point Ciarrai. I chatted with Louise (Deon's girlfriend) for quite a while - she's from Limerick and now works for Nolan Transport (Wexford haulage firm) in London. Lou mentioned a few times that the Not606 crew's 'outpouring of support' was a huge help to Deon and Pat. Mad, isn't it really, that a (usually) faceless, and mostly irrelevant medium such as Internet blogging can build relationships and help people so much? Mad world really......
I actually said something similar to this in my closing piece in our book of memories. I hope it is the case.
Well done guys (and especially Roller) for making this fantastic tribute day happen. Thanks for sharing the details of it all on here to give us an insight into how it went. Rollers speech sounds perfect (as was the programme tribute) and I'm sure Brix would have been very proud of you all !!
