There used to be, (and I hope still is) a café along the water side that sold the best scotch pies I've ever tasted.

When we used to go to Drumnadrochit every year the visit to Fort Augustus and the café was one of the highlights.

And if anyone knows where to get scotch pies in Sunderland, do tell.

Do Morrisons not sell them? You can get them in the Morrisons down here. Not particular good ones mind.

Get our scotch pies at Farm to Freeze at Wooler. Always understood proper scotch pies to be made with mutton. On a recent trip to Dundee they were all made with beef which is what Morrisons ones are made with. The Wooler ones are made with lamb so not quite traditional but close and taste good.

Sainsbury's used to sell them but stopped doing so about three years ago.
Lack of demand no doubt, brought on by their not being very good no doubt.

    Even so, I miss them.:emoticon-0106-cryin

Not Sunderland but there’s a butchers in Pelaw used to do proper scotch pies. Sold out by about 11am every day like.

    Scotch pies are a dream.

Grew up in Chester and one my dad's mates was a butcher who made his own scotch pies. Dad used to buy the pies (delicious) and tripe (vomit-inducing) off him, along with his venison sausages (also delish).

    Dear me, how embarrassing ...

... early hours of the morning, sitting alone crying on the internet.

If people want to talk to you they know where you post, does it ever happen?

Cheers Rooch always nice to see you too mate.

@Smug in Boots needs to come and spoil Comm’s fun on the PL board, he’s normally showing everybody whatever he’s pulled out of his deep fryer that day on the grub thread.
